I was thinking this morning.. I'd love to have a VX calendar with some awesome VX shots in it... I figured lots of VXers would like one too, so I'm thinking of pillaging the gallery, stealing some photos and getting some 2007 calendars made... any takers? what kind of price would we pay for them? if theres enough intrest ill look into having some made, probably wont be ready by jan 1st.. but with any luck not too long after that
also votes for pics from the gallery to appear so i can contact the photographers and make sure its OK to use their pics

I would buy one. Just about any pics are good with me. I spend too much time as it is looking through the galleries here. So why not have some pics that help me keep track of time.

Ive been bouncing that one for a long time. It would be great to get pics of VX(''s) in front of famous landmarks worldwide and pics of the major meets weve had.
The resolution would have to be high and you'd need each photographer's permission which shouldnt be a problem with this crowd. I did a poster some years ago and got pics from some 70+ VX's from members here.
That is a good idea! I would like to have a calendar myself. $15 max?

I'm down for one, and if wanted I could submit a photo of my VX.
I have a cafepress account and I know they make calanders...so, if you all want I could throw one together and make it available on my cafepress account.
But like Anita said, we would need high-res shots and permission. We should do a thread where people submit 1 photo each and then we vote on which 12 or 13 go in the Calander.

Anita, that's a great idea. if I can get my VX up to snuff soon, I'll donate some killer shots of my Ebony in front of the Seattle Space Needle.
That's...erm...'world famous', right? :p

bart if you want to try and take it over and use your account id gladly help you out with photo processing and such.. i was thinking it would be tough to get enough high res photos and there are some that are amazing as they are (wormgods 3/4 shot comes to mind..) that we couldnt duplicate so my thought was either a calendar that was a little smaller than normal (maybe with 6x4 photos.. or to make it more functional a full sized calendar with multiple photos on each page
i was actually planning on printing them off from home on photo paper (crazy nice photo printer from work broke its carriage off from a paper jam and rather than fixing it, bossman threw it away, i pulled it from the trash, added a $20 part and voila! home photo studio)
im up for any suggestions though.. id love to see that shot of that natural bridge in moab with like 10 vxs on it

OK, so I checked my CafePress account and I can create a regular wall calander for $14.99.
So, do you guys want to make it?
I think it would be cool if we could get 2 or 3 nice, high-res groups shots, and then a bunch of solo shots of nice clean VXs with cool backgrounds.
All I know is that if I make it, my VX has got dibs on November! ;)
Bart
I'm down! :) What's the next step?

obviously im all about it, do they have a turn around time?
what resolution/size do we need these photos to be? format.. etc etc, if you want to e-mail me we can work out details about what needs to get done for it to happen
in the meantime... what pictures do we want on the calendar? ill work on setting up some kind of poll that will allow multiple votes

Their turn around time is basically instant. As soon as I am done designing the Calander and make it available in my online shop, we can order. They print on demand so...
So, if you guys want me to facillitate, no problem.
Everyone just submit a photo onto this thread and we can keep this thread going for a week or so, and then we can make a poll or something on which ones to choose. So basically, We need 11 high-res photos. And keep in mind the photos should be of a standard aspect ratio (no weird long photos or tall skinny ones). This way they will all fit nice onto a rectangular calander page.
The only thing, is that when we post the image to the forum, we should scale it down, but make sure you keep a high-res original to email me at the end.
And if anyone wants to submit but does not have webspace or forum space to do it, no problem, just send the photo to me in an email and I will post it.

The minimum size is BIG. LOL, no really, you can submit ANY photo you want, but the better the resolution, the better print quality you will get. So, say you have a 6mp digital camera, that should be good....

the top one on the mountain has nice resolution at full size.. the one of wormgods, what u see is what u get unless he has a larger verison he didnt upload
a nice layout of two photos each month would help the resolution by making each photo a little smaller

The poster is a PDF. If anyone wants one Im happy to email them the file. There is a lot of VX's there that have since been sold to new owners here. I'd love to see the big lineup pic from Moab and the VX meet pic in front of St. Petersburg in Russia.
Wormgod has this website for pics as well: http://wormgod.8m.com/vehicross.html
I'm sure he will chime in soon...

Uncle Asa soo have to use one of his IMHO. Also I am down LOL I may need a couple to be honest :) But I also agree maybe in front of landmarks or something. Could be a yearly thing get new pictures every year or something keep ti fresh.
Actually suggestion. Should maybe make a new thread or gallery for calander suggestions. Kinda like the one we have for meets and moab. Just a suggestion throwing it out there. Possibly vote on there for them so its organized. So for instance title it '07 calander. again just a sugestion. But over all great idea I am convienced myself to buy yet another.. ok I have to go b4 I try and claim too many to give to friends.
Edit: bad spelling (I am sure there is more)... ok so dean koontz isnt my father.

ok- wifey just did this very thing for the family. VX on the cover and on the panel for my birthday, everyones picture on their birthdays etc. ... anyway, you gather your photos, the go to Wallgreens web site. They have a deal where you create your personalized calander, and they print it out , and mail it to you. Nice product, good price--- Wallgreens.com Wayne

They used this pic in the 2005 readers ride section in truck trends magazine...
I can email or post a higher resolution pic if we want to use it.

I have NO newer pics than those even though she looks a TON different now, and the original ones that are up are probably no bigger than 1024x768. I am not stressed about being a Playmate of the Month, but I would still be down for a calender, heh.

I will take one. Maybe on a couple pages, put multiple pics of a little lower quality (just a thought)
