anyone tried this size tire? ill need new tires soon so im plannin on a lift, 285/75/16s were my first chioce but seemed alittle too wide for the stock 7" rims.

on side note, i have no idea what im doing, ive lowered cars and thinner tires but never lifted and go with meatier tires. am i diving into this too quickly?

expecting i need:
ome 912 (~2" right?)
turned torq bar (~2" 6 turns was it?)
probably major cladding cutting
flip tjoint and possible replacement cv (not sure bout these, wallet is pretty thin after the first 2)

33" tires is my goal, but im open to any suggestions on tire size. i want to stay with stock 16s because of cost, but am willin to go with a different size rim/tire.

That all sounds about right...you shouldn't have to trim the cladding anywhere but in front of the front tires with the stock rims & that much lift.

285/75x16" fit just fine on the stock rims & the extra sidewall bulge helps protect the rim from off-road nasties.

Most take a "wait & see" approach to the potential CV boot issues...some have experienced tearing, while others have had no problems.
I ordered a set of Mechatech boots from Independent 4x4 just to have on hand.

Good luck with whatever you decide.
