Ok everyone the time has come to send in your votes for the 2007 VX Calendar!
Voting will work like this:
Each person gets 12 votes
go to Bart's page to view the photos
VX Calendar Photos (http://www.nofuture.com/myvx/vxcal/vxcal.htm)
Send an email with the subject "Votes" with your choices to vxcalendar@hotmail.com
please just use the two digit numbers of the photos (VXCAL-01 = 01) seperated by commas (01, 02, 03...) please don't vote for a specific month, this poll is just to decide which 12 photos will be in the calendar

# of voters: 37
Oops! I voted but I screwed up the formet you requested. I think it is readable though. Let me know if you want me to resend; I included my name in the subject title. Thanks for doing all this calendar stuff, guys!

zeus, its all good, the reason for the formatting is that commas are recognized by excel as breaks, so i can just export it into a spreadsheet and excel will sort the votes for me, i dont mind adding a few by hand, yours have been counted now

I just voted.
I didnt like the pictures of Vx's sitting on the driveways or pictures with houses, malls, etc.. behind them. The VX's should be out doing something fun. I see it on my driveway everyday, I dont want to see it like that. Vote of for me! (21 & 43) I took a few more but they are not of my VX.

Hey, Yeah, I think I accidentally duplicated one of the photos in there and removed it, and forgot to put something back in its palce! So 17 is just going to stay blank.

Just voted.
If I'd known that modified/shop'd pix were cool, I would have submitted the UFO-themed pic that I did of mine
(see my CarDomain page). -- Oh well, maybe next year.
Best of luck to all of the contenders!

Maybe put it as a back cover so we can still have something to drool over :P

I decided to bump this...
Anyway I am sharing my votes here... and reasons for them.
02, 03, 06, 11, 15, 22, 26, 33, 39, 40, 46, 57
I tried to get a wide range of colors and scenery/situations .
..The showroom new shot is nice since many never saw one there.
I also tried to get the VX showing its strenghs on different types of terrain.
And of then the VX posing with incredible scenery
... of course I also had to pick the pic with my truck in it (#26 Valley Forge arch)
I didn't care for the photoshopped ones that look like water color or oil paintings though..

Fuzzy,
Don't give up yet...one of yours (#11) is in the 4-way tie. And, you can be assured that I want to see as many Proton's in the calendar as possible!

True... and thanks...
(ironically, I voted for all the pics in the tie)
Of course, this just gives me motivation to go take some more "scenic beauty!"-style pics for the 2008 edition.

You could use the four "runner ups" as four smaller pictures on the back of the calendar ("bonus" pictures!) and put the most voted for photo as the cover.

How about the original concept car as the cover photo? Or, can we use the Area 51 ad as a cover?
Henry
Just the logo would be cool on the cover...

i doubt we would be able to use the ad as a cover, we dont have rights to it.. unless someone who has it took a high res photo of it.. then maybe it would be considered photography instead of copyright infringement? i love the idea of using the 3 12th place photos that 'lose' in the poll to be bonus photos on the back page!! dont know how cafepress will do them though, im sure they have a preset calendar layout that asks for 12 photos and thats it, barts the one who would know the answer to that

01/08/2007, 09:18 AM
Well, since the last 2 tie breaker images are so close, we could use one extra one so I have one to use for the cover.
I need to get full size images for all the shots to compile the calender, and then everyone needs to hope CafePress doesn't squash the whole thing because of their © infringment rules.

another question...
by the time these would hit our mailboxes, we're looking at ~Feb 1st right?
so is the January shot going to be 2007 or for 2008?
i'm sure we could get better preperation for another one next year, but January's shot probably isn't going to get a fair piece of the action on this one, will it?
not like it will matter a couple of months down the road anyway...just thinking.

Cryonman has a good point - this late in the game it would make sense to do a 13 month calendar (Jan 07 - Jan 08).
Is there some reason you're using CafePress? I'm sure there are many other options if they aren't cutting the mustard.
nfpgasmask
01/08/2007, 02:17 PM
I was gonna use cafepress because its easy (relatively) and fast.
But, if someone else has a better idea and would like to take over, that would be fine with me. Once I get all the winners full size shots, I will compile the calender.

Another thing, CafePress only has 12 month calender layouts, I cannot modify it.
So, I will gladly throw in the towel here if someone else wants to take over.

bart if you want to send me some of the high res photos i can test out my plotter to see how well the photos turn out.. its supposed to be able to print at 4800 dpi in color and handle up to 5000 pages a month, i may be able to do the printing out of my house... calendars would be printed on 11x17 paper so each photo and calendar grid would be 8-1/2 x 11
