Just installed the SpiderliteX2 LED brake light bulb replacements. VERY COOL!
I was about 80% sure that they would fit, and fit they do, quite well too. :)

website www.spiderlite.com (Made in Canada! - :p )
Bulb is 1157. - $49.99 each with free FedEx shipping.

Man is it tough taking good dark shots with a mid-range camera, here's my attempt:

(The lower reflectors have also been replaced to the 2" Maxxima LEDs)

Way cool Kenny.

I went to the Maxxima web site you mentioned to see what they had to offer and found this:

Something you hope you never need, but damn it could be a life saver. Ordered 2

Picked them up locally at a truck place "House of Chrome" $25 in total for LED, rubber gromet, and wire harness (extended them ~18" to reach the brake wires at the bulb connector and used vampire clamps to splice in)...

LittleBeast did a good job of explaining the parts needed in this thread. As well as others...

How do they look from the side of the truck?

The reason I like the 'Light Tower' bulbs is because they fill the reflector cavity with light in all directions, not just pointing mostly rearwards... Gives excellent visbility from the sides..

Not too shabby. I went with the circular cluster. A more solid ambiance than the spider. Now tear that cluster apart and black out the inside of the casing for a cooler look for night and day. ;)

Good point, I didn't think of this when I bought them. But when I got them I noticed that they also have LED lights on the BACK of the 5 arms. So they do a good job of back reflecting off the housing mirror. With that, I think the illumination is fairly close to stock from the side. Then again, we do have the lower lights just behind the rear wheel for side visibility...
