Option 1;

Option 2 (found on Rauge Thomas's)

I like option number one - especially the font, kind of goes with the VX. The VXR I had on my VX was small, to fit the plaque are in the grille; however, the R is taller than the mounting area. I had to put 2 layers of emblem adhesive tape on the back to get it higher than the surround. It looked fine and you couldn't tell that it was sticking up - but it is veisibly larger (taller)than the mounting area. I assume you would mount option number 1 on the back door - right? Right now, I have a very large Vauxhall badge there. It is their winged lion holding a flag with a "V" in it, surrounded by a thin chrome circle. Looks pretty good, but I like those letters - may have to check it out.

Yeah I really liked both mainly 1. But I like yours as well and did notice the mounting and the R being longer.
I work by 2nd st. bridge and live just 10 minutes away from it, in more of the country side of clark county. We should have a meet of some sort. I know one other guy thats on here that lives with in 10 miles as well.

How about fabbing something out of aluminum? It's relatively soft and with some filing and polishing you could get it to work. Another alternative is to put something non-VX on there - like "Tonka" or something similar - in my mind you can put anything you want (well, I wouldn't put a Ferrari logo on there or some other auto manufacturer, but you get my meaning).

Buy a piece of titanium and make your own? Somewhere I have an actual image that autox-racer used when he made it. I modified the design slightly (mine is a custom one-off) but I'm pretty sure I still have both files if you want an exact replica. It's just a flat piece of titanium cut into a "VX".

id say try to make your own VX badge or put something else completely there... i ordered a custom emblem from www.youremblem.com so now my grille says CROSS
imho the VX-R think is kind of cheesy/ricey...

Good ideas. Im mad that I didnt think of that myself (cutting my own). Etlsport thanks for the link, its awesome.
But it was all too late. (22 minutes to be exact). I just bidded on and won the first all RED VXR.... Oh well i will find a use for it.
I think Im going put in an order for a custom. Thanks.

Since so many said their "VX" fell off at some point, and auto racer said no more, when mine came, I traced them onto aluminum stock before I mounted them. I don't expect them to become detached here in sunny Fla, but if they do... I'm ready.

I hijacked your idea and picked up the option 1 also, I hope it looks cool. I am also cutting out a custom vx out of matte black vinyl for where the big isuzu was on the back. The color and texture of it seem to go really well with the cladding.

Yeah, when I got my VX badge with that double-stick tape, I knew it wouldn't hold. So I scored the spot on the grill with a razor blade and scored the back of the badge as much as I could, and then used 2-part epoxy to stick it on. That stuff is strong and with the scoring it should stay glued for a long time. I really hope mine never falls off, cause I love the way it looks.

I plan on using a dremel sanding drum to rough up the surface of the grill insert, then cleaning it off with some MEK and then alcohol to get a good clean bond, then using some aviation epoxy to seal the deal. The grill will turn to dust before those letters ever come off.

I put mine on in early july and havent had any trouble with them, still clean up well with the chrome polish i use on my wheels (ceramic cooktop cleaner.. works like a charm).. ive driven em through downpours, crazy heat, auto car washes, pressure washed the grille with them on.. id say the supplied adhesive is very good and the letters hold up surprisingly well for $3 a letter

Where can you find some aviation epoxy?
I'm putting mine on right now. I just got them the other day. They had to re-ship because the first set got lost in the mail. PM me an address and I send you some epoxy. It comes in easy to use foil packs that you just cut and mix. They say industrial use only, and everything I've bonded them with has stayed put. If it's used to hold stuff onto helicopters(terrible weather, always stored outdoors in all seasons, not to mention army abuse and all the vibration from normal flight, plus faster speeds than any VX I've ever heard of can go) than it's never coming off. :yesg:

Thanks for the offer I appriciate it. But I just bought some "industrial" strength epoxy at Home Depot. I know its not as good as yours but hopefully it will do, becuase Im glueing it tomorrow. You got the red VXR right? Post pics please. Cant wait to see what it will look like. Thanks.

Oh man!!! ;oob; I just got the V and the X on before it set up, I had to scrape off the stuff on the R since it was curing in place as I applied it. Damn, I forgot how fast it sets up. Just remember to clean the heck out of the surface of both the letters and the grill. I traced the letters where I was putting them on, then roughed up the area with the dremel sanding drum, then cleaned them meticulously, and applied the letters. I found a plastic scraper and some alcohol (the rubbing kind) work very well to get the 3M tape off the backs of the letters. It's curing right now, and I'm at work, but I'll try to get pics tonight.

Here's pics. The R looks a little messy up close, but I haven't had a chance to chisel off the excess epoxy. From any distance greater than a few inches it is totally invisible.

I really thought about ditching the R too, but all three just fit in there so well, I tried it with just the VX, but to me it looked kind of empty, may be just me though. The R can just stand for so many things too, Rally, Race, VX'er, etc.

Done did it today. I kept the "R" and love it. The "VX" by itself just looked to empty.

Re-opening this little conversation,
My company hired a new guy and I am the lucky one to train him. We sit down at my desk and he notices my desktop and says, "Is that your Isuzu out front?" I am kind of shocked at first thinking, wow most people have to ask what it is since I have outside Isuzu logos off. He then says "I have never seen one of those before, we were checking it out this morning wondering what it was and then I saw the Isuzu on your steering wheel."
DOH!!! I need to cover up that sucker!!!
Any Ideas? I was just gonna order another emblem of some sort and stick it on there, but not so sure now. Looking for something subtle.

when you do it just make sure u cover it with something light enough that if your air bags deploy (i sure hope they dont ever need to!) you dont end up with an emblem in your chest, i beleive the steering wheel breaks apart right at the logo to deploy the airbag

Man, I was just thinking that this morning when I had thought I was all debadged(finally rid of those pesky wheels). There is only the steering wheel and the factory radios. I would be careful putting something on over the Isuzu logo there because my little brother tried putting a sticker over the same place on his car and because of the material it's made of it ended up coming off fairly quickly. I am in the market for something to stick on there and I think I am going to use some silicone to smooth over the logo and stick whatever I put on there in place. Since silicone never really hardens up, I think the airbag will deploy OK with stabbing me.
