Hi everyone!

I'm considering the purchase of an old Porsche 928 GT in Ormond Beach, FL. The seller swears it's perfect, but I just cannot buy it blind. I'm hopign I can find someone to take a looksie at it and test-drive it for me to give me an independent assessment. It's a 5-speed manual, so knowing how to drive a stick is necessary.

I e-mailed a couple of people on this board but didn't get a response, so I figured I'd just post a thread to make sure people see it.

Is anyone here up for this? The seller said someone is taking a look at it tomorrow, so it may be gone before the weekend. But if not...

Post, PM me, or e-mail at zinyczg@alxn.com. Thanks!!

Let me know if no one else can and it's still available this weekend. I may be able to help.

Did ya already try to contact Chopper?

I used to have an '84 928 and absolutely loved the car, but am a bit far to offer help. Heraclid's suggestion of asking Chopper is an excellent one as he'll have the eye and experience to give you a good opinion. Shoot him a PM!

Never mind - the car sold today. Just as well - it was too expensive anyway! :-)

hope it wasn't the one we freshened a year or two back...actually, I hope it was, since you didn't buy it. Anything like that I can help you with...I can be reached at Flagler Collision Palm Coast Fla Mon.-Fri. days. I'll keep my ear to the ground, we get alot of sports cars thru here plus, every car dealer within 25 miles of Daytona knows me. Are you only looking for S strength, or any good 928 will do?? Wayne

There you are Chopper! You are the first person I e-mailed about this, but maybe the e-mail addy in your profile is kaput.

Anyway, I'm looking for a 1987 through 1992 928 S4 5-speed or 928 GT. I'd also consider a burgundy '85 or '86 S (5-speed) in tip-top condition, into which I would throw a turbo or SC kit to make it perform respectably. The GT is a tricky choice, though - they command quite a premium over a similar S4, but they will hold that value better, too. I'd hate to get stuck with a toy car I couldn't sell...

Uh, good luck with that 924 Indiana!

Fastest Porche made at the time...yeah, I'd hang for the GT...but you're gonna pay a premium. Saw one just before x-mas. Looked good, but the milage was heavy, and he was asking 10grand.

Meh. Here's my idea of a Hemi...

Daimler 2.5L Hemi V8, just oozing style to go with that Hemi pep. ;)

I know a place in Ormond, where just that Jag is sleeping...should you feel the urge ;) Had no idea they used a Daimler lump.

Believe it or not, that's actually a Daimler and not a Jag. Same shell, but that's where the similarity ends.

The shells were shipped to Germany? As rollers or just unassembled bits and pieces? Who at MB okayed that? Why? A Euro only model for sure...I'm guessing. Now I gotta have answers.....Thanks alot Joe. Something else making my brain itch.
