Does anyone know which non TOD Isuzu T-Case will bolt up to our 4L30E tranny? Things I am concerned about are lo-gear availability, dependibility, strength.
I am in the planning stages of some major future changes (think Waggy D44, links, lockers, and lots of flex. ;Dy; I plan on getting on the list for a rear 12 bolt Aussie locker. Front will be a selectable.) Of course this all will not be in the NEAR future but I want to start getting ideas and collecting parts. I just missed out on getting a front D44 for $300 (came with the rear also) :sady: .
I know exactly what you are thinking! I don't know a specific model number for a t-case but I think a late TROOPER will do as a donor. But I am guessing so maybe this is a stupid post - I will repost when I am sober... I need to stop this late night drunken posting stuff. :p I wonder though which vehicle of mine will get the CHEROKEE D44, the CJ-5 or the VX... it is a toss up at this point!

Some Jeep Cherokees was built with the 4LE30, so you might want to look at NP242 transfer case. I'm not sure if it bolt-on with it's control lever into the interier, though.

Anybody? Bueller?
I was wondering about the Troop, just hopeing someone knew which t-case and possibly year to look for. I want to collect everything I will need prior.

Billy, I asked at Russian forum and they told me that Trooper's transfer case should bolt on, but there are two problems:
1) The TOD and manual t-case use different propeller shafts (at least front);
2) The TOD have gear ration 2.5 on 4 LOW, while manual t-case have just 2.
By the way, from what I read from the Isuzu manual, on 4 LOW TOD is mechanically locked (not through the electronic clutch), so both t-cases should work the same.

Thanks Alexander. I plan on changing the lo gearing to 4to1.

Speaking of 4-to-1 ratio...are there tera low sets available for the stock TOD case?
Don't think I've ever heard anyone mention tera lows & VehiCROSS in the same sentence before. :confused:

Nope...and they are becoming more scarce for the other Zu cases from what I understand.
