You do know they aren't HIDs though right? HIDs have exciters to step up the voltage to jump their gap similar to a spark plug ignition coil. They appear as a separate component in the system (mine are a flat, square box shape). They should be a helluva lot brighter using a 55w bulb compared to the standard 3w version. I just put some Malibu 18w ones in today, but these look pretty cool too.
