Awhile back my fan clutch started sqeeking -(sp?) I shot some WD-40 on it on a couple of occasions and it helped, but eventually it basically seized up and it sounded like I had a tornado under my hood. I bought an aftermarket one from autozone.... replaced it (the origial one was very obviously shot.... but it doesnt spin as freely as I feel it should and It still sounds like I have a tornado under my hood.... i mean it is very loud and I feel a loss of power. Do you feel as though I should purchase a factory Isuzu part or could there be another issue? I paid $90.00 for the one at autozone... what would an Isuzu one go for?
thanks

A fan clutch should NOT allow the fan to spin easily - it is a viscous coupling. If it freewheels or if has movement back and forward, then it's bad. Most auto parts stores have lifetime warranty on parts like that.
You may want to investigate the idler pulley as the noise you describe is more indicative of a failing bearing than a clutch. But I could be wrong.....:winkp:
