Wondering if anyone has replaced a windshield wipers motor assembly and saved the old one? During the last snowstorm my wipers got frozen dead and after I did, what I tough was a good job of cleaning them, I pulled on them too hard and broke some teeth from one of the gears inside.

I am pretty sure they don't sell just the gear and I am not sure if I want to buy the whole new motor assembly, so I was wondering if anyone has an old one they can part with for a reasonable amount. What I am looking for is inside this motor assembly:

and the part I need is the main gear that drives the wiper arm - looks like this (you can see where I stripped it):

Also, I can't find the part number for this, or the assembly in the service manual. Anyone knows the number(s)?

Thanks for any help.

First, you might try local salvage yards, I'm guessing(but don't know for sure) Isuzu used the same wiper assy. in many models.

Second, I know this may sound crazy, but since the wipers travel in a back & forth motion, would it be possible to rotate the shaft 180 deg. & make use of the teeth that remain?

My two cents... ;)
