I've had mine for a year, got it for 10.5 love it! Just rolled her over to 80K this past month. Check the major things, windows (do the go up and down easy), Oil Level, blower motor and a/c, I think that's about it.

JK what size tires do you have on your VX??
After reading all the horror storys about blown engines, this is making me real nervous about buying, any thoughts.

275 70R 16's, with 40k on a 99 I wouldn't worry about blowing an engine :)

sorry, even 80 isn't bad... met a guy this past weekend (Climb Covey), his 01 has 100+ and runs like a top, just keep up on the regular maintainance and there shouldn't be a prob. That and don't drive around in low gear :)

i have 121,000 on mine and it runs like new, of course just need to update parts and stuff, but isuzu makes good engines, as long as u keep up with them and do ur part. but if u dont change ur oil as its suppost to isuzu wont forgive you. I had blown my 3.2 isuzu rodeo engine cuz of mis care on egine oil. and f-up and had to get a whole new tranny for my 2.2 isuzu rodeo sport for not changing the tranny oil as sappost to, so i have learned my lesson to keep up with it, you just treat it like ur baby and feed it right and on time. but like most cars or all, thats what u do, so other then that it will run you for a long time.

I'm always under the hood of my vehicles, I do oil changes every 3000 so I hope I will be lucky, where is the PCV on that engine?????
