I wish I could find a set of tires like this:

I believe these were on a British military Land Rover. I like the look of them.

Those would give a god awful ride - they are probably 10 ply tires (maybe even bias) with no carcass flex. Noisy, harsh tires! Handling would be poor, rock work would probably suck because of the stiffness, although in mud and snow they would probably do well... perfect for Reno! haha

Don't forget to add the fact that 99% of older(and a lot of newer too) military vehicles have extremely low top speeds of around 55-60mph, and yes, that does include the tire ratings. I can also personally attest to the noise and handling issues. I'd definitely go with the look alike or look-similar version.

Yeah, I just like the way they look. I know there is no way to get something like this on the VX, and I know they would be loud and hard. I will probably go with the BFG Muds next time around.

They would look good on yours. I really like the mud terrains, but i couldnt beat the price i got on the All terrains i got. You should look at the toyo mud terrains, they look good too.

I had VERY similar tyres on my first SUV which I owned in Russia (ever heard of Lada Niva? :))
Well, they do make your car go slower, but what's worse - they start to produce that howling sound after you exceed 20 mph.. if you go faster, it feels like sitting next to turbines in an airplane :)

I agree, I'm looking at these for my next tires - good reviews I think.

I always liked the looks of the Mickey Thompson Baja Belted but they come in strange sizes (34x11.50 or 36x14.50) but not in the size I need (33x12.50). Oh well, I haven't used up the Wranglers yet.
