I discovered this wrecked but rebuildable '99 VX at a lot in Joplin, MO. for $3750.00. I don't know if they sell parts off of it or only want to sell it complete. It looks like some body parts unrelated to the original damage may have been sold.

Nice find. Wasn't there another thread in the past couple of days about doing a group-buy of a salvage VX, to cannibalize?
Here's your rig. It even runs!
If all the pieces come with it and you're willing to do some body work, not a bad deal... but I'd try to talk em down to $2,500 cash! :p

I guess it depends upon your needs. I view the driveline as replacable and the body/trim parts as irreplacable, so it seems to me that the VX in San Diego for $3250 would be the better deal....
Again, depends upon what someone is looking for.

If I wought this VX for parts how would I determine the pricing of the parts? Would there be a formula for everything or would some things be higher or lower than what a formula would suggest? How does disassembly time figure in, if at all?

all depends on how familiar you are with your vx... the vx is pretty easy to work on since they were hand assembled, things are usually pretty accessible.. by far the hardest part about the vx is putting things back together... the rear panels coming to mind.. but they ocome off in about 10 min with the proper tools
as for pricing... well thats why ebay is nice for that kind of thing.. but they charge comission and all that, otherwise i would say u could put it on a private auction and require confirmation about users being from the forum other than that demand determines the price... like a roof rack new sold for like 2-300. .but because they are so hard to find and very useful.. prices for used ones have not decrease.. and they even have gone up some, you could probably get 350-400 for the roof rack... but say the rear marker lights.. probably sell for about 50-60 bucks new or more... but since they are readily available from miatas.. i wouldnt pay more than 10-20 for them
