I have a few questions about which direction i should go with. Which does more overall harm to the parts on the VX overtime? What is the price difference on the lift or lower? How hard would it be to do? Or should i have a pro do it? Thanks to all who help.

I can't offer any helpful advice. But I certainly have an opinion that lowering a VX anymore than its original height is just wrong. But maybe that's just me. ;)

drop ur vx....ull be the one of like two poeple who have actually done it.

I am in the general consensus about lifting being way better than lowering. Why take a perfectly good rally inspired vehicle and bring such shame upon it. It's like baking a cake and adding ketchup to the mix-just plain wrong. OK, maybe that's a little harsh, but since so many more people lift than lower I figure it's for a darn good reason. Lowering you would probably want to have a professional do simply because it is not widely done/known about on the forums, so any advice is going to be pretty scarce. Lifting can be done for as little as $60 and a a few hours worth of your time(if that), and is really easy. Also lifting looks way way way way way way way cooler. :p

I been leaning towards lifting on day one and i am still i just wanted to get some opinions but i guess there isnt any besides lift lol. ok know thats out of the way i only wanna lift it mayb 3 inches or so people with exp in lifting their own vx 3inches or so please chime in and tell me how to go bout so thanks lot.

3 inches is about the most you can lift a vx without extensive work anyway, a quick search will return a lot of info on the subject... the short of it is...

get ome 912 springs, they provide 3" of lift in the rear....
crank your torsion bars (with wheels off the ground) until you have your desired amount of lift

adverse effects
with bigger tires- lost performance
loss of turning radius
increased stress on CV joints/boots
some report a grinding sound from driveshaft angle

You could always lift the back and lower the front...then paint flames down the sides!

Hot rod action.

Be sure to get a musical horn that plays "La Cucaracha" too.

I lifted mine 2.5" and am very happy, on the other hand i see nothing wrong with lowering. all you need is to find shorter springs (good luck). you can lower the front to as close to the stops as your comfortable. and if I'm not mistaken, most rally cars are lowered. just please don't put on 15' wheels with a 1" side wall tire, that stuff makes me cry :(

ok maybe ill lift 2 inches i have 22's right now with 295/35/22 and it looks and fits nice many many looks and complments. i think if i lift i can go to 305/40/22 or 24. plus get a kool lift look.
