I look at that and can only IMAGINE the number of class-action lawsuits that would occur today. "Oh, Little Billy lost and arm!" "Oh, Little Billy lost both eyes!" "Oh, Little Billy was horribly crushed by that meth-fueled truck driver, and will forever be a quadraplegic!"
Sometimes I long for the more innocent times...

i remember boys life magazine had all kinds of plans for these contraptions in the back of the magazine. the one i always thought would be the coolest was the "flying sauceer" made from a vacume motor. im serious, i had dreams of flying this thing to school, and being soooooo cool......thing is, at 11 yrs old, i never considered the mile long extension cord i would have needed, let alone the cord laying all over the neighbors yards, and down the streets all day long while i was in school....... but man, that was the kind of stuff that got a kids imagination going!!!

About 30 years ago, I was working in the paint shop at a RV facility in Montgomeryville Pa., and a salesman comes in, pushing the fabulous "Rainbow" vacuum cleaner. His demonstration was impressive to say the least...he did dozens of things with this machine...including spray paint, but best of all, he gave big 'ol fat Klaus Haagen a "flying saucer"ride round the shop on it.
