Bored at work. Way ahead of schedule with nothing to do but kill time on the computer. So I played with microsoft paint. Man I wish I had some photoshop here or even better yet at home.
The thing is I am not sure if I like the direction of modding the VX I have begun to start. I think the mirror tint is throwing me way off. It came with that tint. I have been quoted over $200 each time to stripp it and limo it. Not sure if I want to spend that $$ on just tint or something else better.
This is purely cosemetic but hey I want a unique not too (Scott Free correct this 2, 2 if you need) over the top VX that lies on the rally, aggresive, R/C car looking line.
Ill todays art.
Which is best? I plan on selling both sets of rims I have now and tires. The 20's with Yoko AVS ST and the 265/75/16 with pro comp wheels. And buying another set of wheels and tires.

You definitely need photoshop dude.
MS Paint sux. I think you should go flat black on the rims, spring for the mirror tint removal and do up the limo tint.

Thanks man. How much does a photshop or competitor (if worth it) run these days? I have never priced before. Tried or trying to find it online for free, oops. Yeah I really want to get rid of that tint.
So flat black? I like. White is just almost unheard of. Easily dirty but different. Would you go all black or throw in a little chrome/white or machined silver into the rim, via lip/spoke in a small amount.

I sent you a PM.
All black dude, and flat, not shiny. I wish you could have seen Scott Harness' IronMan. He has powdercoated black rims and they look great, very, very tough. I would either find a rim you like and paint it or powder coat it, or go with the Teflon coated Mojaves. I think they would look sweet on an IronMan. But I don't know if AR has the specs you want.

solid color is definitely the way to go... personally id go with black rims.. i dont know what look youre going for exactly.. but i like the look of steel rockcrawler rims.. theyre hideous.. but in that i can drive over anything sorta way that is dead sexy on a lifted VX, other than that id say something simple would be best
edit..
heres a quick photoshop of what id like to do if i had a lifted ironman.. the rims are ar dominators w/ teflon... dont know if they make them for the VX but thats the look id go for

Thanks guys.
Yeah having Photoshop is an obvious plus. Cant wait to mess around with it. So both agree to ditch the tint? When I replace ill go limo no doubt.
Im thinking about repainting the bolts to white anyways. Any opinions on that? Going to nite shade the side markers and maybe the tail light or mulligan a LDUB style tail.

To me, I think the simpler mods look best. I go for a clean, no bling, non cluttered look. But that's just me.
Less is more.

i would go black tint all the way.. you should be able to take all the tint off no problem, only thing to be weary of is make sure u dont scratch the defroster lines on the rear window or your defroster wont work anymore..
to tint your side markers i would use car model spray on tint.. thats what i used and it has worked beautifully.. and had almost zero effect on the visibility of the lights... either way you should cut off the raised lettering using an x-acto knife then sand down with fine (300) grit sandpaper until its smooth.. then step to 1000 grit until its really nice and smooth, then paint with whatever you decide, makes a smoother look

Yeah I had a black I would go stealth all black and clear like your doing a great job of. But since I have all this contrast to begin with I figure why not play with it some more and take it toyish.
ETL; thanks for the spray advice. I will probably do this tomorrow. Did you get your paint at a hobby store or does wall mart carry that?

OR, you could just go ballz out and sand down like Etl said, and then prime and spray completely black 2 or 3 coats, remove the bulbs and good bye side markers. That's what I did and I love it...

With my Ironman, that's already tinted pretty dark,
I'm going with all black wheels. Looking at ARs right now, but I'd like 17s at the smallest.
The right white wheel could look really nice, but I would not want to be that showy. I think a black bottom half with the white body is the perfect combination of subtle yet sporty. IMO
I've even considered messing around as far as making either/both the hood/rear door black.

Goodbye side markers is a good idea too. I already bought the transparent paint tonight but I might just forget it as a whole. Who needs those things anyways. Plus I want my tint of the markers to match the cladding kindaish.
I have thought about painting the roof black to flow with the hood insert up the windsheild. I have also played with the idea of racing stripes there is one on here that has a stripe on the roof.
Expect alot of pics of random ideas on here once I get the hang of photoshop.
I have PS 7.0 but it's a 160 MB file, compressed!

Looks like I keep getting votes for the black shoes. But I go home and show the fiance my artistic abilities with MS Paint and she was hands down for white rims. So now I got 1.5 votes for the white. 1 her and .5 me. Only thing white rims are hard to come by unless you powercoat/paint some. I did look at some old Transio posts about wheels and found http://www.rotawheels.com/ ... Not sure if they fit the center bore but a few have the lug pattern correct. Oh yeah I also dig some gold/bronze rims. Just the gold bronze is hard to find in your 16 choices of colors in pant.

Just FYI- An open source(aka FREE) alternative to Photoshop is GIMP found here:
http://www.gimp.org/
It's a little weird getting used to it if you're already a Photoshop user but will work infinitely better than MS Paint.
Good luck and happy dreaming . . . I mean modding :p
