I am in need of full belly armor before i go to Moab '08. Does anyone know of somewone who can make it for me on the West Coast that won't totally clear my bank account? thanks! Any suggestion on material? I was thinking stainless steel.

Cece,

One person I know who does great work (plus participates in Isuzoo at Moab every year and knows VX's) is Dallas at Stinkyfab.com. I dont think he is cheap but he makes great products.

You may want to do a shout-out to the Isuzu guys at 4 x 4:

1/4" aluminum works well.
If you plan to take it on and off, it's also a heck of a lot lighter to manipulate.

I would just go to a local welding shop and take in some design aspect (a sketch of what you want), and let them do the fit up and measurements with your VX.

The guys I used, knew squat about off roading - but are experts in stainless and aluminum. It worked out well. My aluminum skids set me back about $600.

Good luck, we'll make sure you use em next year :p !

I made an opening to drain the oil- assuming you have a Fumoto drain plug.
As for the filter, ummmm, I can reach it to take it off, but oil will spill inside the plate. I'm not too lazy, so I don't mind taking the front plate off every 6 mo. when I change to filter. Give me a chance to look in there and clean up a bit  .

If you are in no big rush, I owe a few people some CADD drawings of the skids.
I can email you the file to take to the shop. I hope to do this in the next month.

Sorry for the hijak CC.
Hope you find a good fabricator. I'd definitely get at least pointers from Dallas.
