Well my original Isuzu Yuasa battery just died. I'm going to pick up an Optima red top I think. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Mine is still not dead. I replaced it with a red top a few weeks back, and it still started just fine...figured the end was not real far away, and I didn't want to wait for the click click click

I don't care for "color-top" batteries (i.e. Optima, Interstate, etc.), so I replaced mine with a Sears Die-hard. Always had good luck with them. Wish Optima made a more generic looking battery. Stay away from the Wal-mart cheapies.

i love my optima blue top (same as a yellow) because i run so many accessories off my battery and its never failed to start my vx.. even after running my system (draws about 40 amps) for 2+ hours at a show my vx started right up no problems.. and the extra terminals are nice too... before that I had an energizer battery that was pretty sweet, right now i keep it in my basement for testing accessories before they go out to the vx.. just have to recharge it like once every couple months.. pretty awesome

I haven't been using mine to much, I had to ove it out of the garage and click click  So I put a charger on it - well got in it the next day - Click Click :(
Well it's been a great battery - I never had any problems with it.
I'm leaning towards the Red Top but I checked them out at Sam's club the other night and they're up to $148 ? Last time I got one from Costco for my car they were like $100. Did they go up?
They also had the Blue top and Yellow top just more.

I've had great success with my Yellow top Optima - in my 240z - it's
definately the best battery I've ever owned. - I've even forgotten to
disconnect it through the long Ohio winter storage season - but it still
cranks like new in the spring.....
FYI - the company I work for makes most of the batteries discussed
Optima, Die Hard, Duralast, Interstate - ......Johnson Controls.......

If you are going to spend the extra money for a Red Top, (about double a regular battery), you might as well then spend slightly more for the Yellow Top. That is what I put in our Sienna. With all of the electronic stuff, the OEM battery kept dying. Never had the problem again, even with the entertainment system, power doors, HID headlights, etc. I can power everything for hours without running the engine; and then start right up. With the OEM battery, if you left the radio on for 10 minutes, then opened and closed any of the power doors, she wouldn't start. Off-roaders like spirals because they can work at any angle, even upside down. I've got a Exide Orbital in the VX. If, you don't have any extra power needs, a conventional battery might be adequate, though.

Andy, I got a Kirkland battery at the Waterbury Costco a few months ago for like $55 or $60, and they had the Red Tops for about $90-$100.
But since you're not running your Foxfire much, why don't you sell it to me - I'll take care of that battery problem for ya!
