I'm trying to get my rear seat belts functional. They were removed by PO.

Can anyone tell me the size bolts to get that attaches the center buckles to the floor?

I assume that the retractor portion bolts to the floor near the back edge of the seat but I haven't looked yet - correct? What size are those bolts?

i think the one that holds the buckles is 14mm... the ones that holds the seat belt to the floor should be 12mm iirchttp://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/500/rearmod.jpg (http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/500/rearmod.jpg)

number 5 (center) is for the buckles...

numbers 1 and 4 (top, under the far tie down hooks) are for the seatbelts, should be small flaps there in the carpet to make the threaded hole accessible

hm just re-read your post.. not sure i know what you are asking now... the seat belt starts behind the rear panels (under the larger back window) then goes up out through the top of the plastic, attaches above the larger back window... then down to the holes i mentioned earlier

Zakly what I was asking. Thanks.

'Cept ... 14 & 12mm sound like the wrench size, not the bolt size.

The main reason I asked rather than just buying an assortment was that when I installed the seat extender, I stripped one of the bolts holding the seat down. I had a hard time finding a tap & replacement bolt because it was an odd size & thread pitch. Sooooooo - if these are odd too, they may not come in a standard assortment.

Question ETL - how come anytime someone asks a technical question, you come back moments later with pix & everything all prepared. Are you psychic? LOL

corectamundo... it is the wrench size.. not sure about the bolt size... i could tell u tomorrow.. ive got all that stuff sitting in my workshop... but im at my moms house in frederick, md now b/c of the dealership near her house and 2 weeks vacation from school :)

haha ive just taken apart pretty much my whole VX 3-4 times and take pictures of everything so i remember how it all fits/works and i always mean to write how-tos... just never get to it... and at the moment im suffering serious vx withdrawls... just spoke to the dealership and from what i can tell the tech fouled up something during reassembly.. so i dont get my vx back til morning :(

Bummer on the withdrawals - hope she's not too bad sick. Glad to hear the clicking sound wasn't serious.

Sounds like you have 'but first' disease. Start to do something but first gotta do something else. BTDT

sorry for the delay! i was pretty wrong about the sizes of the bolts anyway...

the bolt that holds the the seat belt buckles has 1-1/4" of threads and the threads are 7/16" - 20

thet bolts where the seat belts attach to the floor are also 7/16" - 20 but are slightly shorter (maybe by 1/8") but i dont think that will make any difference as the holes go straight through the floor and protrude under the VX... good luck

oh yea and there are symbols on the tops of the bolts... not regular grade 5/8 symbols...

on the buckle bolt on top it has
TK
A6

on the floor bolt it has
H6
O5

I don't know bolt markings personally but can find out. Thanks for the input.
