It is time for me to replace the PCV valve in my Dragon.
Well, how is it done? The last time I had it done at the dealership, but now I would like to do it myself.
Any advise or instructions will be greatly appreciated!!

THANKS!!!

take the plastic engine cover off (pulls straight up, make sure you get the 4 rubber plugs and put them back in the bottom of the cover)... pcv is located under the little flare out on the right side of the cover... pull the pcv straight up and out of the block, pull the pcv off of the tube, put the new one in, put the cover back on.. youre done... about 3 minutes total

On the drivers' side valve cover, underneath the black plastic engine cover. It will look something like this.

I need to replace mine also. Are there generic ones available at the auto parts stores (AutoZone, etc.), or should I get one from Isuzu?

Purolator # PV-1061

Deutsch # PV-193

Fram # PV-384

These have all been used ...the Purolator seems to get the best "reviews".

I use the Fram... I have no oil issues , and it fits well.

hm i was out there a day or two ago and changed my pcv.. had a purolator in there and noticed that the top and bottom had started to separate, there was like a 1/8" gap in the elbow, anyone else seen this?

Next time you replace the PCV valve, it's probably a good idea to replace the grommet also. It's been prone to deteriorate over the years. You won't notice it from the top. The center part will separate and one day the bottom half will drop down inside the valve cover when you pull out the valve. It probably won't go far and you can easily grab it with tweezers or whatnot, but why not just change it now. You can get a replacement at many parts stores for a few bucks. At Pep Boys, the Help grommets are right by the PCV valves.

I used #42340 and it fits perfect. Others have also used #42330.
