Help! I'm having a problem where my rpms are revving too high when I slow down. It's idling at about 2500 and if i put it in to neutral it runs up to 3000 and won't kick down. Makes it a real bear to stop! Wondering if any ideas of what it could be. Thanks

Thanks, this is very helpful! I have been having the same problem ocassionally and had read somewhere that it could possibly be due to the manifold intake gasket. But thinking about it now, there is a good chance it is the ICV since the problem is very sporadic, only high RPMs and hasn't gotten worse over the last few months.
I'm going to see if I can locate the ICV and clean it with carb cleaner.

Mine did it a couple times and I cleaned the MAF sensor and have not had a problem since. Make sure to use the right cleaner. shawn

And the right cleaner is one that is safe for electrical systems? Or is there another specific cleaner that is right for this job?

Although I've never used any, I believe there are MAF specific spray cleaners available.
