We sell them for a bunch of vehicles, and Ive checked
a few of the major vendors.
And since Ive seen them on several VXs here in the forums
at least I know they are made, or where made at one time.
Any info would be great, thanks.

Ventshades: the tinted plastic shields that clip or tape on
around the front door windows.

Same here they are great. I would pay some bucks for the JDM ones though.

Love my weathertechs. All the other cars and trucks have the tape-on ones that look like crap and seem really flimsy.

Or ya coulda got the WeatherTech brand from MacNeil Automotive. They're smooth and stock looking.

Back in spring 2000 when we were on the suv.com board, Tone contacted the VP of MacNeil Automotive
about the delay in getting these made for a VX and we were allowed to pre-order before they got in the
country or were even mentioned on the MacNeil website. We actually sent the VP our credit card info via
non-secure email! That's how desperate we were to get these back then. I got a pair from the original
shipment from Germany in June 2000, so I've had 'em on for 7.5 years now.

Have you noticed they don't call 'em WeatherFlectors anymore? Now they're just 'side window deflectors'.

I had the MacNeil's before changing to the JDM - they worked fine except for when you bend the mirrors inward. The JDM have a cutout for the mirror shape, as the JDM VX had motorized mirrors that would bend inward when the VX was parked (parking is tight in Japan!).

I also recently purchased the weathertechs and am sad to say I will have to return the passenger side one, there is a little notch for the block (?) on the weatherstipping, the driver's side fits perfect but the passenger side for some reason is offset, obviously in light of the driver's side, it is possible to get a perfect fit so I will need to contact them about a return, thank goodness I saved the shipping box

i had the same problem.. but purchased from ebay so had to deal.. i just sanded down the edge towards the door jamb a bit and it helped with the fit.. still not perfect but you can hardly tell even if you are looking for it

John, are you saying your mirrors contacted the MacNeil's when they were folded in?
I looked at mine today and they didn't even come close to hitting the deflectors when
all the way in. I just don't want others to think this is a problem with 'em if it's not.

Mine hit the mirrors and prevented them from being folded all the way in - the mirrors bumped the inside edge. Sounds like yours don't?

well, it is reassuring that two others have had issues with the weathertech's, that was partly the reason for my post, if others have had issues, it may be pointless for me to deal with the hassle of a return if I'm ending up with the same problem on the replacement one
btw, mine also don't come close to touching the side view mirrors when folded, my power window on the passenger side is NOTICEABLY slower now with the deflector installed though, I will R&I it a couple more times just to make sure I didn't mess something up, kinda hard to do though as the length of the windblocker is spot on
