I got my engine from glenwood on Friday and spent the weekend prepping and installing it. I got everything hooked up today and it started on the first try. No coughs, no sputters, just vroooooooom! The engine was pristine inside from the top and the bottom. I didn't do any work on the long block; I just installed it as-is, though I pulled the lower oil pan to clean it out. There wasn't much to clean.

The VX is actually not bad for an engine swap. I only had to reference the manual a couple times, mostly for torque specifications. The worst part was filling the stupid transmission. I sure wish I had added that dipstick tube.

Thanks to glenwood for selling me the engine. It runs great so far. Now to was the grease off and prep the pictures and time-lapse video I took while I was working on it.

YAY! :smilewink:bwgy::bwgr::bgwp:

Grats on getting this done!

If you have a walk through, I would be glad to add it to the how to section of vx-lounge (link in my sig).

Excellent.....you've been down too long. You can still run the tube, it just won't be as easy.:bwgy:

The sad thing is that I'll probably still end up selling it :( At least it's worth something running. It's actually in much better shape than ever now, since all the wiring harness and hoses are routed properly (they weren't when I got it, but I didn't know it at the time).
