OK folks, looks like the next Chi-Town area VXer meet will be on April 12th! I vote for doing something different (though I love Gameworks), and meeting out in the country...

1) Up North in Lake Geneva, WI.

2) Northwest in Port Barrington, IL. (The Broken Oar Bar & Marina http://www.brokenoar.com/default.asp)

... any preferences or other suggestions? Let's do this!

Hmm, I posted here, but my reply disappeared.. weird..
Anyway:
1. I am going, 100%
2. Strongly prefer the 11-12th of April, as was planning to catch some late Colorado snow on the 5-6th of April
3. Any of those places sound terrific!

Cheers,
Petos

... and Lake Geneva it is! How about meeting up around 2PM, line up the VXs & check out the looks from the masses, wander about a bit, and then get dinner? Send me a PM with your cell #s so we can get in touch.

Demmit. My RSVP message got cut off.

As I was saying, maybe one of you could print out a picture of my VX from the gallery, take it with you to the meet, then hold it up for inclusion in a group photo? :bwgy:

I sent out invites to all VehiCROSS.info VXers in Illinois & Wisconsin (I had to restrain myself from adding other states to the list). I know the drive might be too far for some, others might not have the time, and others might not even want to attend ( :wtfy: )... however, with around 100 invited, I hope we have a great turnout. I can't wait!

:mbrasd: I should have said I sent out PM invites to everyone in Illinois & Wisconsin that didn't already know about it... my bad. :_brickwal

Of course I know you are gonna be there! Looking forward to meeting you & seeing all the others too!

There was a great sit down chicken place in Lake Geneva called (no joke) Popeye's, i wonder if it still exists. If i can't make it, keep that place in mind, it was pretty good when i was there.

Hope you can make it out! Another place I was thinking of for dinner is this... http://www.fischerslakegeneva.com/index.htm. Right now, the plan is to get to Lake Geneva by 2PM on Saturday, find a spot to park a bunch of VXes, and make up the rest as we go...

See you all soon!

I am thinking of bringing 4 18" stock chrome wheels to the meet in Lake Geneva, and will give them away to anyone that needs them. Right now they are just taking up space. The rims still have original Bridgestone Dualer rubber in decent condition. Great for full-size spares, but have the usual pitting/peeling. Let me know if I should bring them... thanks.

i need another set of rims i want to paint the or powder coat them black or something so and extra would be good, do they all fit on a VX?

you should come JHarris! we need more people!! and yes happy early birthday!! think about it its probably going to rain over at that fireworks stuff what would you rather do stand there in the rain staring at the sky or stand there in the rain having a great time with us and staring and our VX's?

Ah, I for sure want to go but that is a mildly distant drive for me, with a return drive on my birthday. I have a few things going on sunday and for sure some festivities Saturday night. I do not plan to stand and stare but heck the weather changes like crazy so you never know what it will be. Last week they said it was going to be a high of 40 and lots of rain, now 53 and 20% rain....
Pep: I bought my VX in Milwaukee.

Furthermore: I plan to have an off road gathering next month on maybe May 21st in Central/Southern IN. If anyone is interested let me know.

So tempting. If I were to bring them home and sell them, that might come close to covering round trip fuel expenses. :bgwo:

j/k

I still have my stock rims and tires in the garage taking up space too.

Just wondering, VXIRONwoMAN, which VX are you going to drive to the meet? ;)
I wish I could have 2, also, Scarpezio has just been selling a cool black just miles away from here... But I'm leaving US soon, and need to save $$ - taking my VX to Moscow will cost me more than the price of another one - about $17.000 :(
I am not sure where exactly on Geneva lake we are meeting, Gill, you know my number, pls give me a call around 14-00 on Sat.
Look forward to seeing ya all!

It was an AWESOME meet! And great seeing all of you (new faces and old ones). I am hoping to set up another meet sometime this summer, when the weather is better. We can hang out longer and enjoy the scenery. I really liked the restaurant we were at. They were very accommadating. Let me know if you all are interested... Maybe late July??? I'll post the pics soon.

Even though Mother Nature did not give us a beautiful Spring day (cold & rainy WAS better than more snow though), it was a great day! 7 VXs!!! Very cool meeting the new fanatics as well as the familiar faces.
I'm glad Rich (AnalogVX) & his daughter Darcy showed even though he never responded on-line... :rollb: Your membership is still good, right?
Sorry you had to bail so soon Ray, but I'm glad you showed even though you had not been able to register here on VehiCROSS.info. Glad to see you have an account now. Thanks for posting the pics so fast!
I did a little bartering with Juan (Pepino), and traded 4 2001 18" rims & tires for his rear cargo mat. Don't laugh! I've never even seen one before! Even trade IMHO.
The tricked-out, chameleon painted VX of Petr's was as wild as I remembered... glad to finally meet you!
The folks at the restaurant ROCKED! We WILL be meeting there again!
I hope to see you all again soon, and (for those that are taking the trip to MOAB) some of you REAL soon.

Just curious whether the police have ever said anything about your door glass being tinted. I've always been under the impression that it's against the law in IL. I even had my quarter windows and rear glass tinted in Indiana, but they wouldn't do my doors when they saw my IL license plate.
