So I am in the middle of a ball joint flip and everything goes smooth and then as I go to tighten the flange nut to bring the UCA and the LCA back together, the flange nut is just spining with the threaded shaft of the ball joint!!!!! What is happening? Help please..... as for now I am sitting on the driveway completly lost.....

Try taking it apart, cleaning the threads on the ball joint & nut, attach the ball joint & get it tight, THEN attach it to the upper control arm by wrestling it down with a big crescent wrench (see pics in my gallery) then attach with the four bolts that hold the ball joint to the UCA.:_wrench:

Looks like LDub has helped some people with this problem before.

Yeah I owe you some Pole Vault lessons. Let me know, that seems like your style, you know running balls to the wall and then planting and you know that whole going upside thing..... LOL ;)

That is exactly what I was thinking..... LOL, pole vault is one of the more rewarding events though there is just something about flying 17-18' in the air by using only your own momentum. But when it goes wrong it goes wrong, much like... uh um.. cough.. rolling over.. cough.. excuse me. But yeah I am not one to talk, I planted wrong (took off way too far out) in Germany last year at a meet and hyperextended my knee and broke my foot, but I didn't know it at the time, I thought it was just sprained, so I kept on competing and finished the dec, the next day however my foot looked like a club..... ah hears to dangerous exciting adventures

Thanks for the vote of confidence...I've got a pretty good idea that I wouldn't have gotten that far off the ground...but hurt myself as bad or worse(r).

YIKES ! ! !.......that looks awfully painful.:sighwgray

Thanks just the same Ryan, but after seeing that, I think I'll just sit over here & do those curl things that Mr. Rowhard was a talkin' about earlier.

YOW...:freek:

The rush on the way up and on the way down, when it is done correctly of course. :)

Here is the way the ball joint flip should look when you are done:

Back on topic sorry... Good job man. I am far from a mechanic as I just had to do all this with help over this last weekend. But that sure is quite a thick front sway bar connector? Whats the reason? Any benifit?

I am assuming you are referring to the Swordy's sway bar disconnects (long red round connectors with pins holding them in place)? Or maybe the greasbale sway bar bushings (short red bushings going around swaybar with gold metal connectors)? Well the sway bar disconnects are for gaining a little more suspension travel while off roading. The greasable sway bar bushings make the VX go from the loudest rattling SUV ever heard to a quiet running LittleBeast!!!!! But don't worry, the LittleBeast is about to be a BigBeast.....

Yeah I know, I just bought a grease gun and everyday as I do more to the VX I find more things under there to grease (and clean up). I have become a greasing fool!
