View Full Version : Power!
I want to get a little more power outta my VX, looking into some Ignition stuff and some air stuff..... does anyone know how to get more run out of these beasts without the use of a Supercharger or a NOS system?
P.S. I'm tired of high tech spark plugs, WHEN I CAN'T FIND A HIGH TECH ELECTRICAL SYSTEM!!!!! THERE'S MORE TO SPARK THAN PLUGS!!! Sry had to vent :)

Don't know if he is still in business or has any extra laying around, but it might be worth a try:

I got this and liked it: but I replaced the filter with a Green Filter (VX High Flow Dual Cone filter) http://www.tonemonday.com/vxparts.html ($99)

Yeah I didn't like the filter that came with the Morgan Tech intake so I got one of the AEM Power DryFlow Performance Filters, the 3" one of course.

AEM dryflow X2-never needs oil but I got this one:

But it's bigger than the stock airbox, so you might have to get a heatshield made.

Go dry - K&N oil can mess with your MAF. It happened to me, it's happened to others.
I supercharged, then did exhaust work (2.5" pipe from the cats back and a high-flow Flowmaster muffler) and I was equally impressed with both mods. Opening up your exhaust will release some low-end grunt from the engine, and it's a fairly cheap mod, too. I began to chirp both front & back inside wheels turning onto a road from a stop after the exhaust mod, whereas I would only chirp one before, and only sometimes. It's more useful power than what the S/C adds since it's down low in the rev range where the engine spends a lot of time (the S/C only starts to play at 4500 rpm).
Good luck!
