Well June 1-2nd was technically the the anniversary, but I just found all my old images of my truck. :(

Story goes...

I was up wheelin' on the some basic trails up Bountiful Canyon (sessions road) One of my friends got stuck, I had to pull him out with my ZR2, upon doing so my truck popped up and slammed down breaking a tie rod.

We tried to bailing wire it off the trail so I could be towed home but it wasn't working out, so we locked it up and ran for parts. Came back a few hours later, and the damage you see is what I was welcomed too :(

Severely vandalized, shot with a shotgun, every tire slashed, every window busted, stereo equipment ($10k worth) Shot up, and smashed with rocks, not even stolen. Only things stolen, optima Yellow top, and a Rubbermaid action packer that was under the tonneau cover that contained some tools, food etc.

:(

I was a long time member of zr2.com, but after the truck I went with a car (audi) and the audi message boards SUCK, too much bickering and opinions flying around. Now I have my VX and found this forum, It's very similar to ZR2.com and I couldn't be happier to be back in the forum game... of course it's taking it's toll on my pocket book ;)

Man, those before and after pix made me throw up in my mouth a little bit. That really sucked. That was definitely a welcome to the jungle moment.:(

Geeez man, could you imagine what you would have had to deal with had you come up upon the party that was destroying your vehicle as they were a$$raping it?? Talk about double fisted XDs! That is absolutely absurd that someone would do that. Its one thing to trash a car that looks like its been out there for 20 years, but man...

Uggg....

I'm not really a pick-up truck person, but dude, that was a sweet truck. Did you ever find the person(s) responsible for messing your ride up?
Peace.

No, it’s all GM. The Isuzu Hombre is a rebadged S10.

I hope that someday, the dudes that did this to your truck get the same treatment. Then see how they like it.

Yeah it was very lame :( Thanks for the kind words about the "before" though :D Wish I still had the truck though, would be a fun trail only vehicle.

As for catching the guy, CSI came to my house twice, to completely "comb" the vehicle and try to lift prints. There was blood on the front bumper from Shotgun blast ricochet (serves them right). We ended up with a partial print, and an Eye witness saying, A guy named Rick Driving a root beer brown early 80s Toyota SR5 was the only one on the trail after us.

I was supposed to ride with search and recovery (with an officer) to the location of the event, and he pulled a no show on my twice :( The insurance company ended up giving me a decent settlement 2 months later (I had receipts for EVERYTHING) they first tried to give me $7500, then $13500, they ended up settling for $21,000 And I was able to keep anything salvageable that wasn't part of the original vehicle. (some stereo equipment)

I had a lot of blood sweat and tears (too many) into that truck. All the work was done by myself from age 17-20.

If I see myself a root beer brown SR5 on the trails now, I'm going to play Monster Truck on their ***.

Man oh man, that is a terrible story.

I just finished putting an s10 back together today.
It was my first whole vehicle paint job.
My before and afters are a little different than taylorRichie's.

Very nice... wish mine had been the opposite scenario like yours... started busted, and got fixed ;)

I painted the hood and the bumper myself on my S10... Good ol' fashioned Visqueen Paintbooth.

Wish I was better at body and paint... but the whole 95% prep 5% paint thing doesn't do it for me... Painting is the only fun part... at least for me.

So, let me get this right.

You didnt hear any banjo music?

Nobody howling like a pack of wolves?

No animal pelts or twig bindings hanging from trees?

Oh wait.... that only happens out this way. Sucks man. But, it just reminds us that, people have no respect for other's people's hard earned property. Ever and never. We will never own anything that someone else will not envy and want it for themselves or simply have the urge to destroy. Human nature, and very few of us ever learn to break that mold to find the good in ourselves to be respectful to others.

Too funny...

I'm not sure what I'd have done had I "caught" them in the act. I'm still confident it's Rick, From Clearfield, in the Root Beer Brown Toyota SR5...

Maybe one day we'll cross paths, and I can tell him how big of a man he is.
