wont start without remote

Ok I have a remote start on the car with a viper alarm. My door locks dont work with the remote anymore ( i think the switch is blown since it dont work with either the remote or button on door) I hardly ever use the key to turn on the ignition but today i tried and all the lights came on but the car wouldnt even try to start, there was also a ticking sound kind of like if you have a factory alarm that goes off without the horn if you dont stick the key in the door. I put the key in the door and tried that but didnt work. the only way i can start my car is to use the remote start. but then some times while im driving i can sometimes still here that ticking noise.

any ideas ?

is there a way to disconnect the factory alarm to see if this is the problem?

Ticking sounds like a relay failing to engage. I removed my factory alarm and placed the compustar ECU in the same spot with splices to the same harness so I coudln't tell you what's going on there.
