Just wanted to say hello again, now that I am back to society after Ike took all of our modern day luxuries from us here in Houston. I left on thurs before the storm and stayed with my sister and her husband out on Lake Travis it took over 4 hours to get from Houston to Austin, it is normally a 2 and a half hour drive or so. I got back 4 days later on Monday the 15th and it was crazy like driving into a scene from a post apocalypse movie. Lines for gas were days long if you could find a rare spot that had electricity and gas. No street lights anywhere, no electricity anywhere, no A/C anywhere. Debris was everywhere, from entire fences torn into the street to stop lights on the ground or hanging in your face to trees crushing houses, it was quite a sight to see. When I finally arrived home, we had to clean out the frig and live with no electricity for an entire week. My neighbor had a generator so we had a fan plugged in at night along with the microwave and tv. Here are some photos from my street, it is good to be back. We are not back to normal by any means, still hardly any street lights stop lights are working and there are still over 800,000 people with no electricity but we are getting there.

Typical intersection after Ike through all of Houston:

I feel for you. I manage resorts on the west coast of Florida. Every hurricane season, I pray that we do not get hit. We got some flooding from Ike in the Tampa Bay area even though the storm was hundreds of miles away.

What is crazy is that this looks very similar to what I see here in Indiana..... We were hit by Ike on Sunday and still people do not have power around here. We had 81mph wind gusts for 4-6 hours straight.

Thanks for all the support guys. While I was without electricity for a week, after I cleaned up the yard and stuff, I took time to put in the metal permanent window fix and install 4 separate infinity speakers in the VX, I will upload some pics later, but here are some AP photos of Ike for now:

Glad to hear that all is well, if not a little chaotic.

Some of my family in Baton Rouge STILL don't have power from when Gustav rolled through a few weeks back.

Be patient and all will eventually return to normal.

Some of us in Indiana and the Louisville, Kentucky area are still out of power as well from this.....Insane to think it effected us all the way up here. I cant belive media is not picking up on our "wind storm 2008"
