Yeah I'm still around. The VX took a back seat for a bit but I'm starting the pre planning phase of swapping front and rear axles. Either dana 60/14 bolt or hybrid 609's. I also need to find out the weight class for the VX and what max ride height is in Va on it, cause I want to go up 2 more inches

11/09/2008, 07:18 PM
I would keep the center of gravity as low as possible...better on and off road stability. You should also check out Matt's (indy 4x) 12 bolt/60 hybrid (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=704216)...pricey but very sweet!

Petos, in the spinout video, is that a stock-engine VX? Did they disable the ToD system for these tricks? I need to go to a snowy parking lot to get skidding like that!
This winter, I've got to figure out a mount for an in-car video camera - even if it's just my flip-video camera.

When you get to the linked page, there is one of those twisted-letter security things you have to enter in (6 digit number when I looked). This takes you to the page where you will see this link:
http://narod.ru/disk/3919160000/FINAL.rar.html
Now go to http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm to download a trial version of one of the .rar file extractors. RAR is a Russian file compression format, like .zip.
After all of that, you should be able to go back and download the "http://narod.ru/disk/3919160000/FINAL.rar.html" file. It's a biggun - 32 MB. And of course my connection is 50-70 KBs running slow! :-(

I am confused, they drove out into the woods and shot deer with a standard 7.62x39 NATO round? Probably from a SKS-45 or some such. Not sure what the problem is here that would result in them going to jail? Are deer an endangered species in Russia? Were they taken out of season? I know on my trip from Charleston to KC,MO and then to Dayton,OH I have seen dozens of deer hit by cars, hunt away, your saving the lives of HUMANS. Now if they had used the VX to run them down...that would be bad, unless they had my 1st gen bumper:) For those that don't live in rural areas, deer populations have drastically risen in the last 10 years or so due to the decline of natural predators. They are a nuisance animal, destroying crops and a vehicular hazard. 100lbs of venison through your windshield makes for a very bad day.
Should they be ticketed for spot lighting, hunting out of season, perhaps on private property, sure, but jail time?! No way.

Someone with decent fiberglass skills could duplicate them. Most of the work would be making a new fascia. The round lights could be mounted in the existing headlight assembly.
