Hello peep's..

Currently having an ussue and can seem to see solution in the troubleshooting guide.

When I shift into Park to Drive on my 99 ASM #0385, my Dash does not reflect proper gear. It kinda at random toggles between L and D while the Trans show no signs of meing in L. Ont the Mechanical side, I know the the Shift selection is mechanical and shouldnt go into L without Physically moving shifter to the L position. Drives like it's in D (normal opperation just the Gauge pod displays inaccurate info.

Now I Know that the gear indicator on the dash is NOT Mechanical (via Cable), it's Electronic so my theory is it's a shifting relay? or dreaded something else.... hopefully not the something else.......

Any ideas? anyone have this experience?

Yup. Mode switch.
Easy to replace... done it 3 times now (different VXs).

One tip though... you may want to put some header wrap on the exhaust pipe that's near the mode switch when you replace the unit. It'll extend the life of the new unit substantially.
