woo hoo! found myself too.. kinda tough to see.. but im right in the center of the photo above the "s 5th st" kinda hard to tell with the size of the pic.. but the silver and hood insert are a dead giveaway
photo must have been taken a long time ago.. looks like the car infront of me is my roommates old blue audi.. which would mean the photo was taken before august 07

now im really confused!!! i just went back to rotate the view.. and i did (couldnt see the vx because of trees) but when i got back to the angle of the photo i just posted.. there are different cars there now! (VX is still there) but there are 2-3 more cars parked on the street and my roommates car is gone.. i havent lived there in like 6 months.. and the view changed over the time span of like the last 15 minutes
EDIT
haha i figured it out.. if the train tracks are in view towards the bottom of the photo.. my roommates car shows up...
if the train tracks arent in view.. my roommates car is gone and 2 others take its place... funny stuff

Yeah, I can understand that. They must have multiple shots for the different angles and some could be from different days. Mine were all from the same time.

it would appear different days completely.. the view looking north (the one posted is looking south) looks more like i remember (everything is dead and the streets have trash all over)

The image of my area is 2 years old, I didn't have my VX... but my Audi is in my driveway from one Bird's eye view...
And I can see how nice my landscaping looks to airplanes and birds. :D

That's Wallyworld...like speed cameras, I know they are there. I just don't want their F#@$ing sattelites aimed at my house. Isn't there some Moojie in Pakistan it needs to be pointed at? Think I'm going to paint a special message on my shingles...more a hand signal really.

My house must be too "rural" for their handy camera work. No images available there. Would't matter though since the driveway would be empty and the VX in the garage. :p
Looked up my work and managed to find my WRX though.
When I am bored at work, I will punch in random addresses and see what pops up. Passes the time. :bgwg:

That's Suzy, to the left of the "Big puke green house"...;puke:
More water balloons than can be counted have been launched from that small flat area on the roof...:naughty:
Can't figure how to capture a screen shot...:rolleyesg

Dub, just make sure the Google Map is your active window and hit the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard. Then go into whatever program you are using and click "Edit" from the top menu and then "Paste", or just hit Ctrl+v.

Not even close! This topic came up on the Rennlist forums earlier this year when a guy freaked out that his Porsche was caught on the Goog's street view camera in front of his house. His objection was that now any crook knows where to find his car, and will naturally assume there are things worth stealing in his house.
My VX shows up in some of the bird's-eye view photos of my house, as well.
The Goog is still mostly benign, and would likely take down the photo or edit it if you did not want the picture available on the web.
I've also heard a few stories of guys getting busted because of their picture in front of a nudie bar, but who knows if there's any truth to that.

Thanks Bart,
I'll give that a whirl if I can "possibly manage the time" this weekend.
I may be "the finder of lost threads" (Mr. Google to those in the know), but I'm FAR from knowing the myriad of tricks that are possible on one of these new fangled computat'n devices...:rolleyesg
It wasn't all THAT long ago (about the time I started posting links), that I figured out "cut/copy/paste".
It's just sad I tell ya...:sighwgray

It was interesting tho, the first pic was taken in the summer and you couldn't see anything because of the trees. When I rotated it tho, it was a winter pic. The yellow behind the VX is the SeaDoos.

Does anyone remember the Google Map where we all stuck pushpins where we live? Well, that now has StreetView integrated. I was able to find someone's VX in their driveway in Utah.
You can see my Subaru, but the VX is hiding in the garage.
This link might work. (http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=106875359261866866038.00045448bdc888ff9b2d2)
Besides... Google Maps works in my browser, whereas Microsoft's just don't.

The Goog has come to our sleepy town... I saw a street view today while looking at a house for sale. I hope they miss our stupid little road... or else my car collection will be one view for all...
here's Vicky parked on the street. The bldg with the white roof and the octagonal skylight is her branch of the Boston Public Library.
the yellow really sticks out :)

Nice job, Brian. I couldn't find it at first from the link. Then I got it. It's only visible from one angle.
From the posted link, hit birds eye view, then rotate clockwise once, then zoom in.

Yeah, I was trying to copy that view directly into my post, but couldn't figure out how. Thanks for the directions...

They even blurred my plate for me even though I still don't understand why anyone would want that!

These are true satellite photos of the same two locations where I found aerial photos. The black hood insert stands out from space.

Found mine when from when I came home from college during Christmas 2006. It also shows where I acquired my love to all things vehicular (all though the front driveway seems empty...) There are three buildings at my folks house: House (w/ garage), pool house (w/garage) and a giant garage! The lowest one has parking for 9 and includes a lift. The pool house garage has an oil pit. You can kinda make out the green VW that I have built up as well.

I was messin' 'round and found some much better quality satellite photos of my VX at work. Always keep your VX lookin' good 'cuz ya never know when these photos of your VX are gonna be taken. ;)
My VX is in the center of each shot at three different levels of zoom-
http://www.drivehq.com/file/df.aspx/publish/mgpa/img/vx3/sat1.jpg
http://www.drivehq.com/file/df.aspx/publish/mgpa/img/vx3/sat2.jpg
http://www.drivehq.com/file/df.aspx/publish/mgpa/img/vx3/sat3.jpg
That's Tim in the red Ford truck who parked next to me. :mady: He got there after me 'cuz I NEVER park right next to someone.
This time I was using http://www.satelliteviews.net (http://www.satelliteviews.net/).
And of course, also try to find the close up bird's eye view like the first post in this thread, if you haven't tried already. http://www.bing.com/maps (http://www.bing.com/maps/)
Give it a try to find your VX or house or whatnot.

Mesmerizing for sure... too bad I haven't found my VX yet. It's complicated by the fact that over the last two years I drove 3 different vehicles to work at 3 physically separate locations. :(

Mine made the command aerial photo!! We only do it once every 10 years or so. For some reason, I parked in a different spot that day, I never park up front, but on that day I did, and now....10 years of celebrity status.:)
