Las Vegas SNOW?!?!

This may not be very exciting to those of you who live in states that actually HAVE winter, but Las Vegas is being hit with a "Winter Storm" that is currently at 2-3 inches, and growing. I've lived here for 15 years and have never seen this much (that actually STICKS too!)... shoots, RAIN is few and far between here, let alone SNOW! LOL

My aunt says no one there knows what to do when there's snow on the ground. She works for the schools and she says they close quickly.

I've been at work (McCarran Intl. Airport) since 0730(still here), and they shut down the airport at around 1600 today, almost all flights have been canceled! :( I'm beat, cold, and wet! I'll post some pictures later when I get home!

I know some schools have already shut down for tomorrow as well. :(

I'm going to stick around here at work for awhile longer. I am not going to drive the VX with all those idiots out there and chance getting into an accident! <knock on wood!> dangit!!!

My sister was supposed to be here last night, fliying in from Chicago through Vegas. Her flight got cancelled due to this weirdness. :confused:

Poor Vegas residents... I lived there for awhile and SAW snow once. But to get hit that hard is a big deal when you don't have any snow plows or salt to put on the ground, especially at the airport! Yea we had like 6-8 inches here in Chicago, but we are ready for it. People in the southwest think a snow plow is a coke addicts accessory. :p

Me and 7 of my friend had a small LAN party over thanksgiving vacation and that was all we played. I’ll send you my steam ID later and you can put me on your friends list. I will be in Vegas in February for Superbowl weekend.
Get this, I live in the Tampa Bay area of Florida where the superbowl will be held in February and I am going to Vegas to watch the superbowl.
Hope for some sun and warm weather not snow.

Someone mentioned "Power Outages"; could you even imagine Las Vegas losing electrical power??? They would lose millions of dollars!!!

I bet all of those fancy casinos have state-of-the-art generator/battery back-up systems so they never lose power. Kinda' like the phone company has generator/battery back-up systems so communications never go down. Same theory.
