Some lights to go on the bar?

Rear hatch popper kit. Using the key every time to open it may not bug you right away, but sooner or later it will...

+1 on the donation suggestion. This site has already saved you hundreds of dollars by keeping you from buying the wrong shocks. We are a small but proud nation here at VX.info, but we live on the taxes we collect just like every other...

Some lights to go on the bar?

thats not a bad idea... i was either debating with putting the lights there or on the roof... but i dint know that that was aspecial bar placed on the roof or if they were placed on the rack.

You forgot about OME912s and Larger Tires ;)

The Safari bar is only an aesthetic item, meant to have Lights installed. It provides little to no Impact resistance. So you might as well throw some lights on it. Also lights closer to the ground seem to be more usable than roof mounted ones.

Good point about using the Safari bar and it's the very best location to mount auxilary lights. Off-road lights are best installed as close to the ground level as possible (not high on a roof rack). This is because the low-mounted lights will cast a dark shadow over potholes and dips, and you can avoid them. When off-road lights are mounted high on a roof rack, they "fill in" the potholes and dips with light (bad news) and you don't know the pothole is there until you've already hit it (not good). So, keep the off-road lights mounted low on the Safari bar or bumper level and look for dark shadows that are cast over the terrain.

is there a specific light that will be good to run? is there clearance issues with the bar?

i was also gonna mention that running wires from the roof is very difficult and from the front is very easy...

You forgot to replace the standard wimpy wheels and tires with size 18 chrome rims with 285/60/18 Nitto Terra Grapplers.
Peace.

p.s.
Change out the round driving lights with Malibu 18 watt bulbs. Get them at Home DePot four to a pack for $5 bucks. You probably have the 3 watt bulbs in there.

Why not put lights on both :bgwo:

Eventually that is what I'd like to do. Have the lights on the safari bar up front, and another set up high on the safari rack... now just for getting the money to buy it all..

Change out the round driving lights with Malibu 18 watt bulbs.

So I took a look at those last week and saw that the bulb size is like 3-4x the size of the stock ones. They fit?!

tomdietrying

Sure they fit. Just take out on of the bulbs and make sure you buy the same size and same type of plug in part.
Peace.

The Malibu Landscaping bulbs work well and don't run Hot. I recently Installed a "Trunk" Bulb in my rounds and they are much brighter :flame: the only draw back is they run pretty warm. They been in there a few months and no MeltDown yet. :flame2:..
