So I replaced the abs module that had given me code 43 (means replace the unit).
I grabbed one out of a 1999 Trooper that had 4 wheel disc brakes. Anyway, after install/bleed brakes etc...I tested it key on/off 5 times all good. Did five starts (key on/off) all good. Then test drove it, all good. Stopped for 20 minutes, Then test drove again (key on/off again), and still all good.
The abs light is BACK ON. Got home, checked and I am getting code 35 which is a Valve Relay (shorted or disconnected coil wiring B-9).
Anyone know what to tell me to fix it?
Thanks,
JM

What I am confused about is the code you are getting. My ABS light has been on for a long time, and I get no CEL or codes in my scanguage. How are you reading this code?

So code 35? Anyone have access to the manual? Never had an error light give me so much trouble.

Water was only 1 of deep. Landed on my side. Easy repair. Never had an error light give me so much trouble.
Did you not see the workshop manual that Richie posted for download?
Water only a foot deep? Y'don't suppose that could short out a sensor at the wheel do ya?...:rotate:

So, I guess all you need is a volt meter.

#12 thru #15 are the only large pins. #14 goes with a heavy yellow wire.

awesome.
would u guess the 99 trooper abs module is just not compatible? or did the wreck trigger a problem?
after replacement there were no issues for about 14 key turns etc...it drove fine, and the abs worked. when coming out of the ravine the light was on first crank????
from the time of install to time of wreck, there was about 50 minutes that passed with no light on....then the wreck and light was back on? but this time with code 35, not code 43 from prior oem module???

Why d*ck around with salvage yard ABS modules?! Assuming you've still got your "old" one that is off your VX, why not consider sending it to this guy, who will rebuild it to BETTER than new specs? $100 plus shipping:
