Resurrecting the Grand Scale TX Meet [Text View]

Tone & I were talking about resurrecting the grand scale Texas get together for sometime in late March or early April. So I figured I’d thrown this back out there, for your consideration, to see if there is still an interest. If so the questions that need to be answered are:
(1) Can you make it?
(2) What Saturday in March or April?
(3) Houston (Katy actually) or Austin?

It's been a while since the Texas crew has gotten together...we're overdue,

I would say you should be able to count me in but kids basketball and baseball starting soon all depends on weekend. give me a few options and location will see what finaces can handle. Houston Maybe better for me as I can stay with friends there. BUT I will do either.

I'll be living in Austin by the beginning of March. I think any Saturday EXCEPT the 14th will be fine. If we do it on the 28th of March, it'll be my birthday.

I would love to hook up with some fellow TX-VX. I know someone posted up about the Texas Off Road Megarun at Barnwell Rec Area on March 7th. That is up near Gilmer, in the NE. Unfortunantely, my time is tight as I am in leadership with the Christian Motorcyclists Association. It takes up a lot of my spare time, but I would try to make some type of event.

Due to the track season being in full swing, as it looks right now I only have 2 weekends open in all of March and April:

March 14th and April 25th are cool with me,

and the 25th is my birthday.

It is about time we all get together, hope to see you all soon.

Weekend of 3/14 is the only one that wont work for me as I will be having shoulder surgery 3/13......that being said......I will need to ride shotgun with Tone since driving will be 'out' for a bit.....

Let's try this again. There wasn't much of a response the first time around so I'll try a different approach and target a couple specific dates. How does April 18th or 25th set with everyone? Same plan stands...Houston (Katy) or Austin

how about do it in San Antonio. Or may be Corpus Christi, :bwgy:, there is alot of dunes down here we all can have a meet, eat and go have fun in the sand.

George that works for me! Coastie, I am not taking mine into the dunes and salt water......for obvious reasons....Corpus is wayyyy to far of a drive for a meet

I've been in hiding trying to take care of the little guy, Kyen, born on Jan 06. Things are a bit more under control so Rhonda and I are willing to host at our house if it ends up being in Austin.... and only April 25th will work for us.

I believe we can go to Houston if need be since I've got Tone's seat extender to put the little guy back there :)

I've heard rumors of an Isuzu event out at what used to be called Boulder Creek http://www.hiddenfallsadventurepark.com/ on the 24th, but I can't find any reference on the boards I know. Tone, Lisa, and I went out there last year and not knowing our way around were limited to pretty light trails that anyone could run stock or not. There are more difficult trails out there for the more daring. It is located about 7 miles towards Austin (East) side of Marble Falls on FM 1431. Might be an option for the adventurous types if it is still going on Sat. or Sun. I'll try to get more info if anyone is interested.

I have a project I have been waiting on cuz of my right arm, just wanted to swap out the license plate mount that is under the cladding since the VX from Chi town has some rust, I have the bracket off the other VX and in the current VX....IF we end up getting together. This is no big deal, something to do though if we are bored......

Sounds great that will be an easy fix! I have some 2" spring spacers, diff drop brackets, new rebuilt OEM shocks, and the 4.77 3rd's to put in, but I will do all that later ;)

I will probably be in friday around 6-7pm I am thinking, and stay at my sister's new house in Spicewood.

I have 4 of us going right now: Jay, myself, you, and PHO2GR4, I am still waiting on responses from Julian and iamironman.

Sounds good though we can meet up hang out and then grab some food. Are you thinking late morning meet like 11 with eating at 1 or 2, or a afternoon meet like 2 and dinner at 5 or 6?
