So this is Mitsubishi's entry into the Paris-Dakar Rally. Looks pretty cool, maybe we'll get lucky and they'll decide to produce a few.

Hmmmmm.......you're right it does look pretty cool. I wouldn't mind them making a few production cars out of that either.
Peace.

ill take one as long as:
1- they dont go out of business so i can find parts when i brake it...
2- it can rock climb as well as it rally's

I like it. I'm guessing if they did put it into production it would probably cost as much as 5 or 6 used vehicrosses!

Yeah, just like a new VX would cost as much as 5 or 6 used ones now, that sounds about right. All that tube costs money you know!:) I wonder what they're using that big scoop across the top for:confused:. Looks too big for just air intake, maybe a remote radiator or an intercoooler? Front end looks mean like a VX too:cool:

That big scoop is for catching birds on the fly...instant lunch, no need to stop.

lol ya, im thinking of putting a big one like that on my VX to catch lunch on the way to moab...that way we can get there quicker without stopping for food...

oh, and a fuel vehicle to pull along side to refuel us so we dont have to stop for that either!!! moab or bust!!!!

I'm guessing this was the Racing Lancer.. but my internet is being weird and youtube doesn't work  .

Yea, that thing is sweet as hell looking, especially in all black.

Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, mitsubishi has pulled out of ALL rallying for the foreseeable future. So this thing had its maiden race in the dakar and probably its last :(

But maybe they'll sell them off! With its torque-y turbo diesel and awesome clearance I bet we'd love this car.

yummy, wish i had my VX that dected out. and if you look at that dash it looks like a cockpit of a jet with a million and 1 buttons, also it has the big handle shifter on its right side next to the steering wheel, kinda like the new lancers or the euro sport cars with the shifters next to the wheel.

Nice weight balance once it gets airborne you can see it.

Why the large air intake at the roof line?

Thmstec

The large intake on the roof is to pressurize the cabin. They do this to keep a dust cloud from forming in the cabin. You'll see the same thing on professional drift cars to keep tire smoke from building up.
