I went out with some friends to Tuttle Creek ORV Park outside of Randolph, KS yesterday and thought I'd share some pictures. This park has LOTS of rock... small sharp rocks that could easily take out a tire... as well as LARGE rocks that could stop most off-roaders. To begin with, I was quite intimidated by the thought of climbing up, over, or down ANY rocks as I have never done this before. After it was all said and done though, I think I have found a new favorite thing to do... I wanna go climb something... check it out and lemme know what ya think.

I plan to do some mods before my next visit. I want to do a three inch lift and get some skid plates. Once thats done, when the money comes around, I want some air-lockers (front and rear) but that might have to wait awhile... overall though, I don't think I had much trouble with slippage.

BTW, my only clearance problem was the large overhang on the rear... departure angle has a little to be desired. Hopefully the lift will take care of this problem. When I cam down off the first rocks, my gas tank (skid plate) hit the rocks hard enough to leave a mark on the rocks, but not hard enough to hurt anything... at least not that I can tell.
TTYL!

Brian-

I fear its too late to be careful... I'm already figuring out my mods... lift, skid plates, rock rails... and I gotta know... where did you get that front bar/winch mount? Looks similar to Grandpa Bob's but was told his was cutom built... I really want that think...

I am considering the Calmini 3" lift, but am also waiting to hear back from someone about doing a custom 4" lift... we shall see. I know I need skid plates though since I know I touched couple rocks yesterday. I am waiting to hear from another friend who is going to custom build me some rock-rails. That only leaves one thing... more tire!

I can't wait to get out again! Yeah, it is addictive! Of course, it didn't help watching the video of a friend of my boss in his custom built Jeep Wrangler... SERIOUS rock crawler. He was climbing up rocks that were 6-8 feet tall... and I don't think thats an axageration. Killer stuff.

Anyway, I'm hooked and theres no backing out now.

Later!
