Holy Cow!!! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. It appears those BFG Mud "clone" Tires dig-in quite well. I bet those new Kumho's that you were considering of getting would have done well, too.
I loved seeing the LR Discovery stuck in the mud (with the guy standing on the sill plate). In addition, the Mitsibishi Black Van with the front brush guard is something we don't have here in the USA-- I wonder if the van is 4WD??? The only OEM factory 4WD Vans we have here in the USA is the Ford "Quadravan".
All-in-all; great pics, thank you for sharing.

Man that looks like a blast! and I love that g/f of yours getting out there in the mud. She's awesome!
Also I really liked the the 4x4 (I guess) van and the diamond plated Land Rover.

Now we see why you were asking about fording depth! What a day! Looks like it was full of action-packed action. I like that pic of the guy sitting on his Suzuki stranded in the water. The one taken from the side. I hope his differential vents, etc. were high enough because it looks like he was in the pond a while...
Gussie's right - you're lucky to have an adventurous girlfriend like that. She didn't just ride along in the mudfest, she actually got out and dragged cable through a swill hole. I'd say she's a keeper!
You need to get her some gloves to match those purple wellies though...

The Mitsubishi Exceed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_Delica) (4th gen black van) is 4wd. I actually saw this on one of the Japanese TV shows I was watching the other night and looked it up. I prolly would sport one if they were sold here in the US! :) My dad had a 2nd gen (rwd) when we lived in Okinawa, loved it.

I'll take your word for it. My VX is an urban offroader so the only way I would ever get stuck is if a Smartcar ended up under my rear axle. Been known to happen.

Ah yes; MARLIN, you are correct (somewhat). The Mazda MPV 4WD (rather AWD) van was produced 1989--1998 and was essentially rear drive with a steering column mounted push button that engaged the front axle for 50/50 "high range only" drive output between the front & rear axle. Basically, it was 2WD with push button "on the fly" selectable AWD. The Mazda MPV did not have a traditional Hi/Lo range transfer case found on a common 4WD. The vehicle was not designed for true off-road; but rather as a 6--8 passenger "snow vehicle" with on-demand AWD cabability.

Cheers Guys, we had a great day and yes, Claire is a legend!!!!!! She's great at helping with that stuff and loves the mud :D
The van as said is a mitsubishi Delica, the guy put up all kinds of posts on the thames vally 4X4 forum before going and it turned out to be quite god. Its basically a mitsubishi pajero underneath!!
There were LOADS of other 4x4's, if you want to see pics of th day here is a link to my clubs gallery. Have a scroll through !

If it's any consolation, I don't go to the mall. Amazon.com for me. :p

lol....mall crawler is the trucks you see rolling around with huge lifts and perfect looking rims and bumpers, with not a scratch anywhere on the vehicle (im talking about HUGELY modified trucks, not 2-3 inches)

I'm going to be a pedant - its a Mitsubishi Delica. Its basically a minivan body on a LWB Misubishi Pajearo/Shogun/Montero chassis with a 2.8 turbo diesel engine. There aresome great videos of them off-roading on youTube.
