I'm changing my rear pinion seal and the VX manual mentions installing a new crush collar. Is this necessary since I am not removing the bearing? If it does require replacement does anyone know if the crush collar will slide through the outer bearing race or does that need to be pulled also? I looked through a lot of old posts and couldn't find my answer only the fact that the seal was changed but no how to's. Appreciate any help.

Hi travel !

I had my rear differential pinion seal replaced saturday morning while the guy was flushing the oil fluids,i saw him split the drive shaft from the diff to get the old seal out,but that's all what i saw removing though.
