First of all I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has contributed to this forum, this information is absolutely invaluable!

As a newbie VX Owner I have been searching for information (hints and tips) on what original Isuzu parts should be replaced, with what and when. I'm also trying to get an understanding of what is no longer available directly from Isuzu but it available through other sources. However this information is spread far and wide across the forum, so unless you are searching for something specific it is very difficult to find.

So I thought it would be a really good idea if we could put all this information into one place, I'm suggesting a spreadsheet containing indivdual tabs for Engine, Brakes, Drive Train, Accessories etc with sub headings for:

Item Descripton - Replacement Part No: - Where to source it from - Link to 'How To'

I am quite happy to pull it al together if everyone sends me the relevant information or a link to it.

So if you find something whilst browsing please come back and post it here or PM me.

Your thoughts?

OK, I'll start ... but I'll upset the apple cart before you even open Excel.

You need to have a section for modified parts as well as OEM direct replacements.

Differential Drop Brackets:

For 2.5 inch drop, contact Joe Darlington: darlington-offroad@nc.rr.com

For 3 inch drop, send Private Message (PM) to tom4bren

For a receiver hitch:

http://www.fatmanfab.com/

or

http://www.tonemonday.com/vxparts.html (not sure if this will stay open since Tone passed away).

You put it together and I'll put it in the appropriate section to keep for ever

Rockauto.com has the best on line reference for the VX and aftermarket/OEM parts I have found:

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php

Here is the link for if you wanted to compare 2001 Isuzu Vehicross ball joint options, note that if it was the OEM it will list it as such and if it is heavy duty it will be listed that way as well:

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php?carcode=1363283&parttype=10070&a=FRc1363283k1034827

Or right now I need a new center link and from Isuzu it will be $202 shipped to my door but on rockauto.com I found 3 different options for our center link and the Beck/Arnley part for $120 seems to be the best bet for me right now:

2001 ISUZU VEHICROSS 3.5L 3475cc V6 FI (X) [6VE1] : Steering : Center Link Price Core Total
BECK/ARNLEY Part # 1014722
Front $119.89

SPICER/RAYBESTOS Part # 4401143 {Professional Grade} (Only 5 Remaining) $124.79

MOOG Part # DS1432
Frt Strg $191.79

Also on rockauto.com if you click on the part number it will bring up a list of the other cars that share this part with the Vehicross for easy cross referencing. It really is the best online parts system I have ever seen, and by far the most comprehensive Vehicross parts list I have seen, even beyond the Isuzu provided stuff because this incorporates all the non-OEM stuff into one place.

Of course I 2nd this statement 100% and don't forget they give free shipping and I have actually returned things to Merlin with no hassles, absolutely the best resource for Isuzu parts by far, just this week Merlin even e-mailed me pages out of the Isuzu Vehicross mechanics handbook to help with my current project.
