UK VX MEET. Hogmore Arena, Hampshire, June 14th

The reason i am suggesting this site is because its the BEST site on our thames valley 4x4 club calender.

I went here a month or so ago and the site is HUGE, its also got something for everyone from wide open sandy tracks to hills, woodland and mud. It is 100% worth any amount of traveling to get to it as the site is 1 of a kind.

Cost is £30 for the days off roading. (higher than normal as its a MOD site)

There is a burger van, toilets and club trailer on site but there is plenty of room for a nice VX sunday BBQ in one of the open areas. We can put up a table / chairs and BBQ and then head off on trips around the site in convoy etc.

We will meet at 9am for the vehicles to be srutineered (see scrutineering sheet )

Then find a spot, pitch up the bbq etc whilst munching on a bacon butty and head off into the play pen :D


I am going to look for a suitable camping site near by and propose we have a camp and a few beers on the saturday 13th june to make the trip worth while.

This Friday I was made redundant (currently working on my CV and applying to jobs) :( needless to say that I have money concerns until I find employment. So it goes without saying that I'm trying to minimize any unnecessary expenses . Therefore I will not be making the round trip to Hampshire.

Hopefully, I'll find something soon and won't have too give up the VX (saying that at the mo I prob only get a couple of grand). The guy who's currently selling a VX for £2K on EbayUK was trying to sell it for £4K only a couple of wks ago but no takers, just shows you how bad things are :eek:. Sorry for the downer

what you wannna do about food. Burger van? Or BBQ. Just that i was hoping for a bbq when there would have been more people. i.e set up a base and leave the stuff there before going playing. Cant really lug the bbq etc round in the boot whilst thrashing around.

Might make a packed lunch to be honest!!

Right guys, I deffo coming - just won't get there until about half twelve. My mate Carl is bringing his Series 2 landie so we'll follow you guys around with that and you can show me what my VX will do when I've got it lifted and with muds on :bwgy: Then maybe we can have a bit of a photo shoot, if the powers that be let me past the entrance with my VX!

That's me fed, watered anf home - just off to get myself clean now I've treated the VX to 9 minutes of the finest jetwash my local petrol station could supply!

Really good to meet James, Sarah (I think that's right - sorry if it isn't), Nick and Carl (again - he sold me my "off road" wheels and tyres about a year ago!) and James's boss and her partner...
