had lots of smiles this morning in London :D

Roads were nice and wet so put the rear LSD and 2wd to good use and did a few drifts here and there, lol

Got some strange looks but guess people dont expect to see an off roader going sideways down baker street, lol :D

When i first got the vx i was turning it around down the back of work on gravel it was in 2wd mode i punched the gas just a bit and ended up nearly doing a 360 :P.

Its wet as overhere at the moment. tho id like to do a few skids and spins. but if i got snapped id loose my license :(

Yup, and every time I get into my wife's Axiom and see that switch (not to mention the Direct Injection sticker) I wish I could do a transplant. (Not found to be possible so far, in case anybody's about to ask.)

That's cool. They don't have the rocket boosters, machine guns, and mobile cigar bar that ours came with, so its probably even.

Jap VX's have subtle differences -a 2wd option being one of them. Cloth seats, different headlights and marker lights, mirror on fender, rear view camera, 3.2 L motor...

Did not realise we have different headlights??

Unless it is just the LHD vs RHD aiming of the low beam??

More info on the BMW X5 Conversion. I know some others have started a conversion but I haven't seen a finished product ( unless I've missed the post) And does the X5 conversion use the original BMW starters, ballast, (if they use this process) wiring etc...

Everybody likes a xenon light, but if you just put the H4 xenon bulb in to VX headlamp it will light like sh.. mmm not so well))). I would like to explain how to insert bixenon lenses to VX headlamp, for the exellent light ).
All this pics shown a JDM headlamps wich is little different, but I think, technology is the same vith US VX headlamps. I used Hella lenses only, all the rest (bulbs, starters etc) is SHOME.

1. First, you have to put you headlamp in to the oven  with temperature approx 100 C (Celsium!!!) for a 10-15 min, until hermetic bekame soft, than use screw driver or knife for removing a front glass (use gloves - it is HOT:))

http://claus.fotoplenka.users.photofile.ru/photo/claus.fotoplenka/150076224/xlarge/152347544.jpg

2. Take out all the parts, remove a reflector, for the next step

http://claus.fotoplenka.users.photofile.ru/photo/claus.fotoplenka/150076224/xlarge/152347550.jpg

3. prepare reflector for lens applying
http://claus.fotoplenka.users.photofile.ru/photo/claus.fotoplenka/150076224/xlarge/152347552.jpg
http://claus.fotoplenka.users.photofile.ru/photo/claus.fotoplenka/150076224/xlarge/152347555.jpg

4. 90 mm Hella bixenon lens (a lot of europinean cars produsers using it) bulb type is D2S/D2R.
http://claus.fotoplenka.users.photofile.ru/photo/claus.fotoplenka/150076224/xlarge/152347538.jpg

5. apply lens in reflector's body, you have to remember about "horizont line" when applyuing lens.
http://claus.fotoplenka.users.photofile.ru/photo/claus.fotoplenka/150076224/xlarge/152347559.jpg

6. when the horizont and vertical position is right, fix the lens in reflector's body

http://claus.fotoplenka.users.photofile.ru/photo/claus.fotoplenka/150076224/xlarge/152347565.jpg

7. install reflector back in to the headlamp
http://claus.fotoplenka.users.photofile.ru/photo/claus.fotoplenka/150076224/xlarge/152347566.jpg

8. Than we can see ugly cuted reflectors surface, I used a plastic folder to make a cover :bgwo:

http://claus.fotoplenka.users.photofile.ru/photo/claus.fotoplenka/150076224/xlarge/152347534.jpg

11. put the front glass back on to the headlamp and use oven again :smilegray to apply all surface right.
and that's it :dance::dan_ban:
