Just wondering what the max mounting depth is for rear speakers in the stock location? WWill be replacing with 5 1/4 or 6 1/2 seperates since I have a rattling blown rear pass. side speaker.

If you don't get any response then PM etlsport. I know he's replaced his.

Reading through several posts some say you need shallow depth, some say no, some say nothing. Just want some idea before I order something.

in the first pic you can just make out the back of the magnet behind the bracket, it is probably within 1/2" of the tire well on the bottom

I wouldn't even mess with them cause those rear panels are a mo fo to put back on OMFG, there are much easier ways to get good audio without those 2 rear speakers, new kicker 3 ways for the doors and kicker tweeters where the tweeters go and subs in the back is what I did and mine sounds awesome.

Or surface mounted (box) speakers on the "b" pillars.

Jack & I have both done this.

Once you get into it, it is not that bad, just takes a day to take your time and do it right. The speakers I used were exactly the max mounting depth once you modify the brackets to fit the 6.5" because my speakers are about 1mm from touching the metal on the backside ;) Here is my build thread:

Has anyone heard the Hifonics Zeus (http://www.hifonicsusa.com/Hifonics_Zeus_Speakers.html)line of speakers? In particular I am looking at the ZXi5.2's for both the door and rears. I know back in the day Hifonics put out some high end amps but I don't know a lot about their current crop.
