I forgot about the Aussie Condo 750 that finished in April. Last year the two Vehicri entered finished second and third.

Tubas Racing retired their yellow VX, but the black VX team was back with the same driver in 2009. Unfortunately they finished fifth this year. They did finish first in their class though. 'Cuz they were the only entry in their class- "Unlimited 4WD and CAMS Off Road Extreme 4WD Vehicles".

I wonder if that guy is adding gas thru a fuel door in the C pillar? In last years photos it looks like the stock fuel door spot is blocked off. I don't see a gas tank looking thru the rear wheel well. Is it possible they have the gas tank in the rear cab area? I suppose it'd be safe if they isolated it enough from the crew.

They are probably running a race fuel cell in the rear.

I want a race prep VX. :(

I wonder what tranny/transfer case they use?

Seems like the space where you usually see the tank from the rear is now empty. hmmmm:cool:

It looks like there's some kinda bars on the outside of the A pillars that weren't there last year. The yellow VX did have those bars last year. What do ya think those bars are for?

The drivers name is Pierce and the navarator Graham. The pictures make it hard to see the team name for googling.
Not sure about those windshield bars. Possibly a requirement for the class they run...part of cage, fire retardation equipment, some kind of support/stiffener...

This is the Bob Land racing VX apparently with a gas tank in the back-

They know what they're doing and I'm sure that's the way it's done in most racing vehicles, but i wouldn't feel comfortable in a violent rollover. That is if it's even possible to feel comfortable in a violent rollover. :(

Hmm! full cage (that surrounds the tank also), the tank is secured to the cage, has an outter shell and then an inner shell/bladder. Sounds safer than an expossed, rear mounted external tank to me! Plus it is seperated from the front by a plexiglass and aluminum wall and the driver/ navigator are wearing fire proof race suits and all at that level have fire supression systems...:winky:

By the way for those wondering that rear bumper is almost exactly what mine is going to be like once it gets done. The only differance is the center section will dip down to follow the lower edge of the door to allow door opening!:bgwb:
