;Db; I'll be visiting the Porterville, CA area Aug 3 - 10. If there are any VehiCROSSERS in the Porterville/Bakersfield/Fresno area that want to show a fellow VXer a good time (off-road or just a decent micro brew beer is fine!) let me know. ;Db;

Hey You,

If you are gonna pass through Pasadena or come to California via the 10 freeway maybe I can meet you somewhere. I am meeting an out of town VXer on Aug. 5th down in Laguna Niguel, so any other day could work for me.

Spazz- Thanks for the invite. If I don't have any passengers on the trip I may drop you a line and swing down that way on my way home (Doubt it because its pretty far out of the way, but I would kinda like to see the ocean again). I doubt I can keep up with you and Swordy, but I'd give it a try! (I've got a neighbor here with an H2, but getting him off road -- HA! He won't even drive outdoors if its going to rain! ;Dy; )

Anita- It would be great to see you again! I'll probably take I-10, so if its okay, I'll get back with you by email in a day or two.

So let me toss this out and see if it flies: Is there a place to meet in the Upland area on Saturday the 9th of August? I can be in Upland fairly early in the day from Porterville. I'd be up for whatever the group would want ... offroading yes! lunch or dinner yes! Spazz? Anita? Swordy? Sveltax?

Upland is not too far for me to go! It's up to the rest.

My AX is 2wd but I could ride a long if you all want to have a more spirited run!

I think we have a meet! As for what kinda run to do... I'm still driving a nearly stock VX. Slightly larger than stock all terrain tires, but no skid plates, no lift yet. Pick a run/trail/drive that's not huge severe that a stock VX can run, and I'm in!

As for time and place? And Swordy - can you give me an accurate estimate on the drive time from Bakersfield to Upland?

I'd like to try to meet here around 8:00am.
traveling time from bakersfield is approx 2 hours and 45 minutes.
We will be doing the White Mountain trail near Big Bear Lake, but in the reverse direction. CB channel 4.
If you need to get a hold of me before then, feel free.

Anybody else that would like to go is more than welcome, Call or just meet us here.

What is the pucker factor for the White Mountain trail? My 2wd Axiom with an open diff probably will not complete the trail! Looked up a few pics on the net.

Just about everything has a bypass, so you can pretty much pick and choose what you want to do

It sounds like it'll be a great trip! I'll be leaving on my vacation tomorrow morning, but I'll try to check the board over the week in case there are any changes.

8 am... gonna be getting up pretty early that day!

Well,, the night before last I broke both front axles. The new ones are supposed to be completed by this morning, and I should have everything put back together a few hours after that. I knew one of them was going bad, so I was intentionally punishing it trying to finish it off. GRRRR The good one broke first. After that it was short work to finish off the other one. I really didn't need that extra axle added to my bill. Oh well, Live by the sword....

Andy

P.S.
If you need directions, or gps coordinates,, call me

Also, Walt,If you read this, I would especially like to request your presence.

I've had a late change of vacation plans and won't be coming down towards L.A. after all. I'm sure you guys will go offroading anyhow, and I hope its an excellent trip. Maybe in the near future we can plan a CA/AZ offroad adventure.
