Another feature update - Member map

With great thanks to twistedsymphony, I have been working on another version of the VehiCROSS.info members map. It does how ever take some work. Those that want to, can place a marker to show where they are.

This is for members only and is connected to the member's profile. New members that have either less than 25 posts or have been a member for less than 60 days will not be able to place a marker. This is to avoid possible spam contamination. The link is located on the left Main menu or you can Click Here (http://www.vehicross.info/forums/vbgooglemapme.php?do=showmain)

So just to remind people you might just want to approximate this whole location of the pin thing, I just let mine be on Houston, I don't think we want the entire world knowing exactly where our VX's are parked at night ;)

so how about a arcade section. tetris, brickbreaker snake etc. for contributing members only. We could have a champion of the arcade. one of the other forums that I belong to had one. it was alot of fun..

Seriously, place your markers so we can see where everyone is... You don't have to be exact, just put a marker over your city or even your state (ok that's a little too generic) Click on my marker to see what format would be ideal.

This is an invite for the non-USA members to post their locations..That's why the map defaults to a wordwide view. We (I) want to see locations from all over the globe!

My wife has a '99 ebony, but she's not a seperate member. How do we get people like her on the map? Perhaps another type of marker? It's just fun to see where the still-living VX's currently live. Also, it'd be fun to see where the breaker-yard VX's are burried...RIP. Finally, they all started in Japan, perhaps a marker there, also?

blacksambo- you may want to revise your map location...looks like you missed NY entirely, in fact you missed the USA, you're off the West coast of Cameroon in the Atlantic off of Africa.:eek:

As the marker locations are tied to user profiles, at this point it will just show members.. We'll see about this kind of stuff on the next upgrade..

That happens if you don't change the default lat/long when adding your marker.
