2 questions you need to ask yourself are how much $$$ do you want to spend and what are your system expectations/use.

If you're trying to choose specific components and would like to see what's available on the market that will fit the VX, then take a peek at www.Crutchfield.com.
If you're a bit temid about doing the audio upgrade yourself, then take your VX to a professional car stereo installation outlet and have them do the work. From what I've read on this forum, replacing the OEM Head Unit is pretty simple; however, replacing the OEM speakers (especially the "rear" speakers) are a real P.I.T.A.
Lastly, remember that the OEM Head Unit controls the OEM 6-Disc Changer. If you replace the OEM Head Unit with an aftermarket unit, then your OEM 6-Disc Changer basically becomes a "paper weight". Many VX owner's who have upgraded to an aftermarket stereo have installed a Ford Taurus "Coin/Drink Holder" or DIN Cubby Box or CB-Radio in the OEM 6-Disc Changer location.

Do you mean the rms? Which speaker should I use? What is difference in lows, mids highs? Speaker wire or not? Amp... why can I just use my sterio? And is differnce in a all in one and a component?
Is that what your refering to? It makes my head hurt and the RMS or even frequency speaker allows makes my head hurt and its always explained to me and I forget.
I agree tho goto a car audio place and ask them. They will be more than willing to help. You dont have to buy just inquire about it. Or tell them exactly what you want out of a system and they will probably build one to your needs. (again dont need to buy but you can get lista nd go price on the net.) Or there are websites out there that explain it I am sure.Unless your liek me and hate somewhat googling on net. Good luck.

I just decided to keep it simple. Replace door speakers for now, rears next and just for get components, amps, powered subs bla bla bla. Problem is can't get the same answer twice from shops and cruthfield etc and just can't trust someone to tear into my VX and not destroy it.. if I can't do it myself, forget it.

etlsport had a decent thread on replacing his speakers. I'll see if I can find it for you.
