So come on, own up! What kind of MPG is everyone getting? The reason I ask is I have a Scangauge II and it's telling me I'm getting an average of 13-14mpg

I am running big rubber and a heavy right foot, but even so!!!! She runs sweet and I'd be surprised if anything is wrong, but what do you think?

Nick ;)

i get an average of 9 round london, and 15 on the motorway lol

Country laning is probably around 13 too. Does seam VERY inefficient !!!!

oh, are you UK gallons or Yanky ??? Just that there was a slip of paper to calibrate the scan guage for UK gallons when i got it and i never read it :D

13 in the city is what I get. I'll take any suggestions to improve that! IIRC these things were rated at 15mpg city when they were new. 10 years later I guess that number could drop a little.

I get about 16-17 in mixed city and highway driving, that's about 330 miles on a tankful. Keep in mind I have only recently managed to get my CEL turned off (it's been on for a couple of years!) so I am hopeful that my mileage might go up a notch.

Just filled up this morning. Taking an 11% odo error into account for tire size, I averaged 12mpg on my last tank, all in town driving.

I usually average 15-17 on the open road.

9999, according to my ScanGauge.

Been sitting in my garage for a few weeks and only gets started on weekends to knock the cobwebs out. She is going through some "reconstruction", of sorts atm. ;)

Typically, about 10-12mpg. My weekend spirited toy.

You have to expect some downside for driving one of the coolest vehicles ever made

I hit 19 city & 23 highway.
I drives like my grandma & the fact that i use premium (93) probably helps.

I've always gotten 19-20 mpg in the summer and 17.5-18.5 in the winter. I don't drive it like I stole it. Your right foot is probably the biggest factor in mpg on a mostly stock VX.

I get 15-18 city... 18-20 highway... one time I did get a little over 400 miles on a tankful, but I do have the '02 Axiom engine so that may have an effect on things.

Well, 12.5 city. 17-18 highway, but then that is a U.S. gallon, 3.86 liters versus 4.5 for the Imperial gallon

15.5 running 32's and a lift...this is not counting the 10% difference so really about 17 overall.

Are you still using acetone? Haven't heard anything about it for a while.

Not for about the last six months...I peaked at about 2.5-3 extra non adjusted miles per gallon and it has been mildly slipping since. I just picked up another quart to start again. I wanted to wait a while and see things slip and just give it a break to check everything out. All good so far.

i think in this instance we can rule out the imperial gallon factor as i know i havent set mine up for it, and doesnt sound like Nick has either

48? No, that's the Yaris...

15 to 19 imperial seems about right. That's way more than I used to get before I sorted out some of the dpo's wiring and lack of servicing. Mine pushes to the higher end of that when green laning as its mostly idling and trundling along.

Tyres make a BIG difference and so does having any stuff hanging off the car (like my roof tray).

I got a whopping great 17mpg average over 50-odd miles acting as support vehicle for Bob the Beetle today.

Remember that's with chunky Coopers with roof tray and Wipacs acting as air brakes.

a timely thread as I was about to post on this. I just did an 800 mile round trip with the Proton (3" lift, 265/70s, K/N (pointless) filter). I was getting lousy city mileage (11-12) and the first part of the highway trip was about 13-14. I run AC full time.

I then remembered the adjustment I had to do with my Trooper and oversized tires, and sure enough--each mile marker I was only clocking 9/10 mile, so that improved my mileage. (though don't know if I am going faste or slower than speedometer reading...)

which brings me to my revelation: my mileage IMPROVED when I locked the Superwinch in 4x4 (only ran 4x2 since purchase in June),up to an adjusted 16.5 to 17.0. Plus my handling significantly improved (I think an AWD car is designed to handle in AWD, not 2WD). A few data points; we'll see how the mileage is in the city in 4x4.

for precise mileage, I use Gas Cubby for the iphone; best 4.95 you'll spend. precise mileage, and you can track octane, gas type, multiple vehicle, etc.

I just got my VX. I was surprised by the mpg. 10-12 depending on how much highway driving. Which is not as good as my 500 hp E55 AMG.

If your odo is registering less miles than actual, then your speedo is registering less than actual too.

If your margin of error is 10%, 60 mph registered = 66 mph actual.

Well, THAT would explain all the slow-*** people in the left lane!:upsetgray

thought is was the opposite; if it said 60 I was only doing 54...
