I finally painted it.
http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/data/500/thumbs/IMG_1793.JPG (http://www.vehicross.info/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/15812)
It came out ok. I will have to redo it and make it better but for a rough draft its not horrible.

Wonder what it would look like with the center circle in red? Any photochoppers out there?

WOW that is really nice! Did you get a special silver to match the body? did you use a rattle can or spray gun?

As an easy way to "clean it up", you might try pinstriping all the edges where dark meets light, with 1/4" red pinstriping tape.
Wouldn't take too long, & is easily reversible if you don't like it...just thinkin' out loud again...:smilewink

Thats a good idea.... The only prob is with the grey. I originally bought a close match to the astral but the can was a POS and stopped halfway through. I have tons of primer cans I bought on sale when I worked at Kragen so I used that over the silver. When I peeled the masking it pulled the primer off in spots showing the shiney silver. So I will have to do it over anyway.
COOOOL MAN! That's bringing out some originality! I like Dub's pinstripe idea also... :yesgray:

Trying anyway. I really like dubs idea too. I did have some bleading of the lines and it would solve that quick and easy.

Looks good. From the photo it looks like you matched it pretty well. How are you going to re-do it? Just sand it all off? Did you remove the hood insert to paint it?

I think I will have to sand it down to get all the shiny paint back off, im worried it will happen again if i leave it. Yea, I never put the underhood heat/noise stuff back on so it unbolts easy. I will definately take my time next time bacause its obvious that it was rattle canned.. :(
I need better tape, an area that has some ventalation and no dog hair (got some painted in there) and better paint to redo.

KUDOS for doing a good job with the paint scheme.
It's not exactly my 'cup o tea' but I'm glad you're getting the look you like.
BTW, let me help you out (since I seem to be the only one not on board with this)

De Nada.
Hey if you get all compliments & no criticism, that means SOMEONE is lying.:)
Honestly, it does look good ... for you.
You're doing good work & it's coming out nicely from what I can see in the pic. With my lack of artistic ability, the circle would ... well it wouldn't.

I had no idea what the "baka" comment was all about. I've advertised my ignorance on this forum a few too many times so didn't feel it necessary to repeat myself.;wtf;
'Sides. The comment was made by an ex-VX'r. Consider the source...

Very true Tom... :)
Justin, i like your thought on that one.
I will admit - I looked it up. I wasnt really sure what it meant or stood for as an acronym(sp?). No worries. I like a little variety in opinion, makes me think of how I can make it better.
